Ah. Warren is 6-5, 300 (Cody is 6-4, 306), and I thought I recalled him getting some time in the middle for New England. Guess I'm mistaken about that. McClain also sees Warren at end, says Texans have little money and he'd have to be a backup.

If Ty Warren wants to come to the Texans, he'd have to be a backup. They have little money and starters in Antonio Smith and J.J. Watt.

The Texans should consider cutting Antonio Smith and looking at Ty Warren or even Cullen Jenkins. $6 mil is a big cap number for Smith. Could probably get a better or at least comparable player for less.

Well, they have little money until they realize they can restructure even MORE contracts!

I don't know how much Warren can expect considering his age and the fact he missed all of last season. Probably a rotational end at this point of his career rather than starter.

They'll probably need to restructure the Reliant Stadium naming rights deal, considering they already had to restructure the entire team to fit Joseph in.

I'd be all over him. He is exactly what I was talking about earlier when I said the Texans need depth.

they would have to restructure every contract!

I Texans still need some quality rotation players. And as good as Watt looks, it's a bit much to rely on a rookie for the vast majority of your plays.

He would be a good get and probably for relatively cheap since he is coming off an injury.

I think Antonio Smith is a perfect 3-4 end. He played it well in Arizona. He probably will never live to his big contract but he is a very solid player against both the run and pass. He led the NFL with 19 quarterback hits last season as well. Jenkins is probably going get more than $6 million and Warren would be lucky to get a couple of million considering his injury history and age.

I don't know if the Texans used all of the exceptions ($1 million per vet player, up to $3 million total) to the salary cap in the signings they've made, but if not, they could use that to secure Warren.

Has nothing to do with Houston, IMO. Has everything to do with franchise success. We'll get more respect once it is earned.

I think a lot of folks are undervaluing Smith, especially for this system. Plus, the Pats are the ultimate "trash-->treasure" team. Given his struggles last year, I'd assume they cut him for good reason.

Smith is a solid 3-4 end. I'd be careful tossing him away too quickly.
