other teams like dom brown even if #astros dont. so philly will figure it out. they r hot for hunter. #tradedeadline

    AstrosCounty Astros County
If the #Astros don't like Brown, that's a good sign for J.D. Martinez, Shuck

Yankee beat writer suggests Yankees could make sense as third team, offer Betances for Brown.

Speculation among rival executives is that Pence, through arbitration, will make something in the range of $10 m next year, $13-15m in 2013.

The astros have a glut of these players:

Springer, Martinez, Deshields, to name a few. The astros don't need an outfielder. Really they don't.

Springer hasn't even signed, Deshields is a 2B for now, and none of them are sure things. You have 3 OF positions, so it usually is the deepest position.

Why does Wade always trade with the Phillies?

Austin Wates. He is at Lancaster. A very polished hitter, with good enough speed for CF. Not Bourn type speed though, and not much power.

Maybe the question should be: Why does Philly always trade with the Astros?

A source told SI.com’s Jon Heyman that Hunter Pence was told he was being pulled from Thursday’s game due to a trade, only to get left in the game afterwards.

Judging by Heyman’s followup tweet, there’s a suspicion that Astros management agreed to a deal and ownership vetoed it.

Wow...maybe Drayton is fighting to keep Pence on the team. I would like to see Hunter continue on with Houston. I'm tired of being an expanded farm system for the Phillies. Keep Pence...focus on trading Wandy.

So, if Bourn and Pence are gone this weekend, does that mean that Colin DeLome gets called up? I watched him a lot in college, and I've been pulling for him.

Which management is the question and why. The outgoing or the incoming?

And if Drayton is going to veto any Pence. Deal, what the heck is Wade spinning his wheels for?

Deshields is an outfielder who is trying to convert. And if springer doesn't sign we get another high draft pick. Not to mention that Nick Williams is likely a high draft pick.

Singleton I can understand. Cossart I can understand. Dom Brown, I don't get.

Honestly, probably not, JD Martinez probably gets the promotion and JB Shuck probably takes Bourn spot. Shuck has been playing very well at AAA.

I don't think #phillies are setting early deadline. This is the guy for them. If it takes til sunday, so be it. #tradedeadline

Pence trade could necessitate a JD Martinez callup. Keep an eye on the hooks lineup when it gets posted.... #astros
