I think his antics alone would alienate him with U.S. fans. That being said, you can't argue with results....and he wins.
That and the fact that he's currently under contract with Madrid and he will most likely be there another two season in which he will procede to: 1) Win La Liga 2) Win the Champions League 3) Piss off every sports journo in Madrid 4) Piss off every sports journo in Spain then he'll be let go or call it quits and then Mourinho will be available for the US, or England (hopefully).
It would pain me to see this happen, but anybody want Dominic Kinnear? I love him as the Dynamo coach, but he would be a welcomed breath of fresh air to team USA.
WOW. If anything, NOW is the appropriate time. Enough time to prepare the newer squad, establish a new "system," etc., etc., for the World Cup. Dominic Kinnear would not work. Trust me. Felicidades, el equipo de todos.
Uh nope! The only players that would be happy to see that would be Brad Davis, Corey Ashe, Brian Ching, any other Dynamo players that are in Dom's graces. On the other hand, the list of those in his bad book will also be thrilled to see him gone. On a serious note, if going for a current MLS coach, I think DKinnear is further down the list than Sigi Schmid(who's been in the US youth coaching system before as the U-20 coach) or Jason Kreis(who some-myself included, feel will be the coach sometime before 2022, perhaps even by 2018). I think Schellas Hyndman may have a better chance at the gig than Dkinnear. I may be wrong but I doubt it.
I'll throw some GAS on the fire and add a name to the mix that no one in their right minds would even consider, but should be given a shot to coach SOMEWHERE: GLENN DAVIS!
SO(!!!) sick of Bradley's player choices...I'd hope a guy like Kreis would make bold moves in the best interest of winning. Not sure the powers that be see it that way.
Insiders say they want Jurgen Klinsmann, hope it happens. He did great things with the German team in WC 2006.
Klinsmann named head coach. http://www.ussoccer.com/News/Mens-National-Team/2011/07/Klinsmann-Named-Head-Coach-of-US-MNT.aspx
Pretty much what everybody was expecting. He has some ideas about changes that I really like, I just hope that US Soccer gives him the power to make those changes. The rumors were that was what prevented him from accepting the job before, so either him or US Soccer had a change of heart. He did well with Germany in 2006, and some people feel that the youth movement that he started while he was the coach helped lead to their good showing in 2010. Others think that the current German coach who was an assistant under Klinsmann is mainly responsible. And Klinsmann's stint with Bayern Munich wasn't too great. Either way I think this is a step in the right direction.
- *Michael Scott surprised = no one else was  He'll quit before the World Cup because he won't take BS like Bradley did from Gulati... and then I'll laugh. Hopefully this will bring BETTER football to the team, like Bora's management did. Styles are similar. EDIT: See ya August 10! Y'all will win.
Glen Davis hasn't coached above the youth level. Probably not on anyone's list. No surprise with Jurgen. I like it and I hope it works.
Mexico, we coming for you! Spoiler <iframe width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/G9TOmDp9vRI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
¡Tráelo! *meh. "Bring it" doesn't translate so well. FAIL. http://www.ussoccer.com/Schedule-Tickets/2011/110810-US-Men-vs-Mexico.aspx <- I love it how on the "preview" video they don't show any of the game play from the current three wins in a row by MEXICO. LOL! EDIT: Sorry... it's THREE in a row.
