Not only that, but the more Nnamdi would have gotten, the higher Joseph's contract would have been.

Hell, if I'm Revis, I consider holding out again for a raise... especially if Nnamdi doesn't go to the Jets. He then will know that the Jets have the ability to restructure contracts to pay him fair market value.... which is gonna be close to whatever Nnamdi signs for (if its with a team other than NYJ).

I like Joseph. I hope we can land a killer safety now.

Nnamdi was making 15 million per year last year and if the Bucs just made him the highest CB offer in the history of football it would have to be 16+ million.

If they had waited till AFTER the Nnamdi signing, they risked having to pay even MORE for Joseph (if Nnamdi ends up going to the Bucs due to their ridiculous offer).

None of these guys end up being worth their entire contract... that's why they rarely last for the duration. The guaranteed money is all that ends up mattering.

No point. I actually disagree that he's overpaid considering the market that has been set previously for CBs

Dumb tweet is dumb. Would Paul rather the Texans have waited until they had to pay Joseph north of $10m/year, because that's exactly what would have happened had they allowed the Nnamdi saga go to the very end. The more Nnamdi gets paid, the more Joseph stood to get paid. It's simple logic.

I think Manning has better ball skills. Landry is more of a heavy hitter than ball hawk. I've heard Wade's 3-4 is more like two free safeties, which is why Pollard was cut so quickly. Manning is the better fit for the scheme. Plus, he used to play corner, so he can probably fill in if necessary.

Manning, easily. Especially with what we need. Landry had a bounce back year, but he sucked for a couple before last.

What a novel idea. This is earth shattering stuff. You should look into journalism, maybe the Chron is hiring?
