I like what the Texans did. They have gotten tired over the years of players using them as leverage to get a better contract offer and it seem Aso was doing the same. The Texans was his biggest leverage with other teams, but this time Texans said f this and got the 2nd best guy without breaking the bank too much compared to if they signed Aso.

Interesting, I'm upset we didn't land the best CB in the NFL but it seems for once the Texans weren't being cheap.

I would still have taken Aso though. I give this deal a C-.

It wasn't like they both wanted to come here, and we just happened to choose the cheaper one.

    I give this post a D-.

lol, You take our 6-10 Texans far more personal than me.

Perhaps it will help if I tell you my reasoning. Aso would have been a A+ move. Joseph was a C- and probably anything else would have been an F. I'm tired of a front office that never delivers on what they promised.

Meh, like every year I'll hope they do better and perhaps this is the year they actually get 10 wins but I'm not holding my breath either.

It takes 2 to tango, Nnamdi wanted the Jets to offer what the Texans were offering. His first choice was the Jets all along.

They went after Aso hard, but you can't force someone to take your money.
They instead invested in an extremely talented back-up plan. There are lots of things that the Texans have deserved criticism for but this is hardly one of them.

That's true. I guess if this year we actually make the playoffs for the first time in franchise history perhaps free agents will actually mean to sign with us into of just using us as leverage.

First of all, they never promised to go after any big name free agents. They fooled even their closest lackey (McClain) about that.

Secondly, the guy didn't accept their 12-14 million a year offer. What would you have wanted them to do?

Tell me this, if his price tag is 17 million/year... and you can't add any other good FA's.... is it still an "A-" move for you?

I agree. Cromartie would look good as our other starting corner

I'm very satisfied with Joseph. Would've liked to get Aso.. but this was the next best CB.. nicely done.

I guess the whole "Pay me Rick" left a bitter taste in everybody's month. People seem to forget Dunta's last year here he was recovering from his acl injury from the year before. Yes Dunta would get burned from time to time but our secondary didn't suck that bad like they did last year with him on the team.

I'm so glad they signed Joseph and didn't settle for Cromartie.

See people. You think I'm negative for not thinking this is the best outcome? At least I'm not saying it is a C- lol.

C- means they just signed an average corner and that's simply not the case.

he was overpaid. period. whether or not the league's worst pass defense would be the league's 4th or 5th worst defense is irrelevant. They would still suck. Atl's pass defense wasnt that great either.

I had originally heard $8, so I likely jumped the gun on that. At $10-12 he's no bargain, but well worth it none the less. I'll still take Joseph based on age difference over a 5 year contract.

I would say that Joseph is one of the top 15 CB's in the league. So if you have 64 total starting CB's in the league is he still average?
