Cut DA, Okoye, Slaton, Barber, Allen, and restructure Schaubs contract. Thats how we're still in the hunt for Aso.
I figured the Bucs might be lurking on this one. They have so much money to spend, how can they not try?
I would be happy with that and I hope Cromartie signs with the Raiders and the Jets would be F'ed losing their Wr's and Corners.
A lot of us had the feeling, during the lockout, that going after awesomegha was going to be a smokescreen for joseph and weddle. We weren't able to get weddle but any of those top safeties left would be nice(john mcclain impression). Also, the texans can pick up a veteran cornerback when other teams make their cuts. Really good off season so far.
Texans agree to long-term deal with Joseph Deal with coveted cornerback fills need, will lead to restructuring of other contracts By JOHN McCLAIN Copyright 2011 Houston Chronicle July 28, 2011, 7:19PM The Texans have agreed to a long-term contract with cornerback Johnathan Joseph, one of the most coveted free agents on the market. Joseph, 27, was the second-best cornerback available behind Nnamdi Asomugha. Joseph was considered as one of the top five free agents overall. Under new rules, free agents can’t sign with new teams or old teams before Friday at 5 p.m. Joseph, 5-11, 190, played his first five seasons with Cincinnati. He was a first-round draft choice from South Carolina, which happens to be owner Bob McNair’s alma mater. The Texans getting Joseph means general manager Rick Smith and vice president of football administration Chris Olsen will have to restructure a lot of contracts. Joseph fills the Texans’ biggest need. They entered free agency desperate for a starting cornerback after finishing 30th in defense last season, including 32nd against the pass.
