I agree, it would be mind numbing in a way. Pence just isn't worth those kind of prospects but if Wade turned down the other two, not sure what else he is after. By the way, not convinced he turned down the reported offer, sounds like a leverage ploy by a rival GM to scare off teams.
I wouldn't mind brown and cosart if the phillies had a great SS prospect. But they don't. That's why I don't like the phillies deal that much. If the phillies could broker a 3 team trade, we will see. Profar and/or Simmons is a must in my opinion.
Just so you know Profar is hitting .286 with 10 homers and 50 rbis, he's doing it as SS were he is rated as a spectacular defensive player, and he is all of 19 years old. A shortstop with this skill level is extremely rare.

Profar is special, no doubt and a package with Texas would certainly be centered around him. That said, Texas appears a long shot and not getting a SS should not trump 3 PRIME prospects including one MLB RF now.

I think he is underrated by other sources. 14) J.C. Ramirez, RHP, Grade C+: Great arm, still working on learning how to pitch. 15) Perci Garner, RHP, Grade C+: Raw for a college pitcher, but I like his ceiling. 16) Austin Hyatt, RHP, Grade C+: Borderline C, Changeup artist could be fifth starter or useful bullpen asset within the next year. 17) Jiwan James, OF, Grade C: Borderline C+, Yes, Yes, I know all about his tools, and I actually like him. But he didn't make much progress turning those tools into skills in 2010. On upside-only he would rank in the top ten, but I don't grade just on upside. Performance counts too. 18) Aaron Altherr, OF, Grade C: Borderline C+, Like James, he's got excellent tools, and like James he would in the top ten on tools alone. But my ratings are a combination of tools and skills, and his skills are still quite raw. 19) Leandro Castro, OF, Grade C: See James and Altherr. 20) Matt Rizzotti, 1B, Grade C: Flipside of the last three prospects. Rizzotti can hit, but is limited defensively and blocked in Philadelphia. Don't know if the reds were willing to give up Jose Iglesias, but he is a great defensive prospect. By the way, this list ^ isn't really that accurate as to the relative values of the players. There are some on the list that are only there because of being highly drafted.

Phillies are getting a heavy dose of their own medicine these last three nights vs the Giants. Might be enough incentive to close the deal with the Stros and fork over Brown, Singleton and Cosart.

Some things have changed since the beginning of this season. You can add Trevor May and maybe Jesse Biddle to the Phillies list. You can add Yasmani Grandal to the Reds list. Josh Reddick, Ryan Khalish, and Wil Middlebrooks to the Red Sox list, and consider subtracting Jose Iglesias. Ad Mike Olt to the Rangers list. Jonathan Villar may or may not still be a top 100 prospect, but Altuve certainly is/was, and J.D. Martinez is at least knocking on the door.
I would take Cosart, Singleton and Rodriguez...those three instantly become 3 of the top 5 in the system. If they do four prospects then Cosart, Singleton, Valle and Justin De Fratus.
