Josh Enes is going off the deep end on 610. Is he always like this?

I do think that is the case...but we might (MIGHT) be squeezing the Jets enough to get away with it.

    Hmmmmmm

Plus, check the poll at the bottom of the article for fun

I've said several times that I'm okay with him joining the team and that he'll be an upgrade. However, Huff and Manning are both better than he is in coverage.

That's because the Pats are in their division. It's akin to the 2002 Kings being a title contender even though LA was favored over them. And we aren't even favored to make the playoffs.

Schefter on NFL Live now says most people believe Aso wants to play for the Jets, but that the Texans hope to make it a difficult decision for him.

is there a point where mcnair would get pissed that he doesn't want to play here and tell smith and kube to rescind?

He called a caller an ass hung up and started talking in a really strange voice for about 30 seconds. It was bizarre.

The Texans are trying to trade DT Amobi Okoye, who at 24, is an interesting prospect for 4-3 teams. He didn't fit in Hou 3-4

If by "like this" you mean "extremely grating, irrational, and arrogant" then yes, he is.

billionaire's gotta have an ego and competitive edge.. i feel like if aso really is just waiting for the jets so that he doesn't have to take the texans offer, mcnair could say 'f*&% him'

I don't think they need to go that far. Keep the offer there so that the Jets have to pay as much as physically possible. If you take the offer off the table, that gives the Jets a chance to lower there's as well and get him for even cheaper.

I would definitely start sending out feelers to the other candidates (if they haven't done so already). They need to spend this money on SOMEBODY in the secondary. It would be nice if it was a pro bowler, but they can't come away empty handed.

I'm starting to think this whole "no marquee free agents want to play for the Texans" thing is actually true.

I doubt it. that's an admission of failure. Other DB's won't sign until Aso does so there really is no risk to seeing Aso make his choice. Money tends to get people to re-think and justify how they could leave potentially 5 million dollars (no state income tax and extra per year) extra on the table.

Funny how the whole Beltran saga has prepared me (and many others here) for this scenario.

Remember we were all hearing even more "good" things about Beltran... "doesn't care for the big city, liked his time in Houston, likes his teammates, Astros are leading contenders to re-sign him per major media outlets, Yankees are #2......"

Not signing him was actually a "good" thing for the Astros in hindsight... then of course, they went and gave all that money to Carlos Lee and undid all of that.
