Sounds good... why hasn't he signed yet?

Oh right... he may just not want to come here all that badly. Who knows... but clearly the Jets are still in the drivers seat if they get close on the $$$.

You mean all things being equal he'd pick the better team, the more stable coaching situation (at least perception) and the bigger market?

    Shocking.

He'll take Uncle Bob's money and run, book it. After all, who doesn't want to be a battle fighter?

They don't even have to be equal. If this was just about "biggest contract", he'd have already signed here.

Clearly they prefer the Jets, but if they can't offer him more than Revis without potential Revis backlash then they may just have to take the $$$ from Houston.

Right....but he sucked every year in the league. Being a first round prospect doesn't make you immune from being a bust and doesn't promise you'll get better. It does mean a franchise will try their damnedest to make you pan out.

I just hope his decision comes quickly so Joseph doesn't sign with the 49ers beforehand.

The longer he waits the more the money goes up.

I thought he likely stays with the Bungles if they offer him a decent deal... much like Weddle.

It doesn't necessarily work that way. Aso is the market setter. He doesn't have to wait for a big overpay, he can let the market continue to develop and see how high it goes. This is what CC did to the Yankees before signing there. Yankee fans kept saying "He must want to play in California or he would have already signed!"

When you are the big dog on the market and you are leaving your current team, you lose nothing by waiting, only gain. When his reps feel there is no more money to get he will sign wherever he is going to sign.

I think Lance is still skeptical of a signing.

I am with him, pretty much the 49ers, Jets, and us now have all been in the lead at one point in the last 3-4 days. $$$ talks, agents talk.

Different scenario... The Yankees were offering the most money AND they were the better team to go to.

The Texans can offer the most money all they want... at the end of the day, he's more likely to win on the Jets. They also have the bigger market.

What does that have to do with why he is waiting? He is waiting to see where the money goes. I'm not commenting on who he will pick, just why he is waiting. When he feels he has his best offers he will decide.

Where what money goes? There's not going to be a team that can offer more than the Texans. But if the Jets come close, he goes there.

If he's just waiting to wait, then the Texans better start offering money to other CB's so that they don't miss out. That will force Nnamdi to make his decision sooner if the money isn't there anymore.

Beltran waited also... (for the Mets offer). When players "wait" on Houston offers, its usually not a good thing.

You assume the Texans are at the top of their offer right now. The Raiders got desperate and gave Aso a stupid contract. Right now he's looking at a paycut with the Texans. He is waiting to see if offers go up.
