Everything I've heard about him is that he's like Pollard but with a little better coverage skills.

some of that is/was just poor strategy. Sitting back that far in a zone (even man) can actually put you at a disadvantage.

That's what makes a bust a bust, isn't it? Wasn't Ryan Leaf a legit first round prospect?

They may not be poor but I wouldn't classify them as anything over average.
Unfortunately I've watched the Cowboys every year under Wade and Sensy was nothing special. Tbh I'm more interested in Manning or Huff but I feel Huff will sign with the Cowboys. Hopefully Manning to the Texans happens.

It won't matter who we have at #2 CB if Wade gameplans for it right. All you have to do is put Nnamdi on an island against the other teams #1, and move safety help to keep Kareem from getting burnt all the time.

if Sensabaugh is signed, i'd expect he and nolan to rotate in and out a lot.

Rookie QB's are capable of coming in and doing well. Rookie CB's rarely do that, and are more likely brought along slowly.

Regardless, my point was that Jackson was going to be drafted pretty high (even if he slipped to the 3rd round, which is doubtful), thus making him a legit prospect.

Also, Leaf wasn't deemed a "bust" till he'd already been in the league a few years. There were signs, but nobody was going to give up on him after year 1.

Reporter on NFLN from San Diego said Weddle took a walk at 3AM the other morning, came back and told his wife they were leaving San Diego. Later that morning Chargers called and just edged out Houstons offer.

I forgot to asked them about this but that's good to know. I'm not willing to commit more than one year anyways

Can't blame Houston for not trying. Made SD overpay. Weddle wanted the biggest deal, but probably didn't want to leave SD all that much.

Also, state income tax didn't play a role...

wow. If true that's pretty crazy that the texans were willing to pay him that much. I wonder how that would have effected the Aso offer. No way they could have offered weddle top $ and Aso.

The Texans have allegedly offered him 14M, and are now the front runners over the Jets.

    Link.

I wonder the same thing. I think losing out on Weddle allowed the Texans to up the ante for Asomugha. The Texans feel the pressure from the fans finally. I think they will stop at nothing to sign Asomugha.

    looks like niners are out:

According to NFL Network's Jason La Canfora, the 49ers are unlikely to land free agent Nnamdi Asomugha.
"I'd be surprised at this point if they got Nnamdi," La Canfora wrote on Twitter. The 49ers cleared $15.7 million worth of cap space with Nate Clements' release, but a report minutes ago suggested they are now pursuit of Johnathan Joseph instead. We're speculating, but the Asomugha sweepstakes looks to be coming down to a two-horse race: It's the Jets against the Texans.

Seems Weddle might have been their first choice and when they missed out they now feel pressure to sign aso.

well that makes him the highest paid corner by far. take no state income tax and lower cost of living into account and our deal is clearly way superior.

he would be the clear #1 and has a chance to cement his legacy with the Texans

That report offers nothing new. It's a rehash of the Lombardi report earlier this am.

They may have figured that pursuing Weddle would involve less competition, and you should strategize by attacking what would be most likely...In hindsight now, it appeared Aso. was the most likely, and thankfully they didn't fumble that since the Texans are now the favorites and I feel a decision will be made today. . .

Unless of course the guy just doesn't want to play here and would rather play for NY for less.

    What then?
