Please keep in mind that I've already said this. Reeves was serviceable and if Jackson can play like Reeves this year we will be in good shape. I've never said he won't be better or isn't serviceable.
the way the draft worked, he would have been drafted by 35th more than likely. There was a real run on CB in the late 1st round.
I really don't care. At least it shows that they are all in and as a pessimistic fan it helps. That will also tell the other free agents that we aren't ****ing around and that we are going all in this season.
Didn't Quinn end up playing pretty well after the Jacksonville debacle? When? I really don't think it was a coaching problem. I could be wrong...and I probably am. My uneducated opinion is that it's an athleticism problem. I don't believe he has the physical tools to stay with NFL receivers....or punters. Put some ice on it.
Don't you have to buy a PSL to get season tickets? I though THAT was what the waiting list was all about. Did you buy individual game tickets for every game, or season tickets (which require PSL, and are renewable every year)?
conundrum mentions the end of today. That would be ideal, but I wonder if he is really torn...would he "sleep" on it? I hope not. I can't handle another day of this.
This statement is in line with what the organization is selling this season - mainly blame all of the defensive shortcomings of last year on historically incompetent coaching. Wade Phillips aka "Coach FixIt" is set to become the new savior of professional football in Houston. Of course this line of argument conveniently overlooks the fact of the incompetent management that brought in the incompetent coaching staff but I digress.
Even 3rd round picks are expected to contribute and be potential starters, thus "legit". The biggest issue was that the Texans made him a #1 CB right away... which never happens to rookies... which made him that much more exposed. Hell, the Jets tried to hide Wilson as a 3rd and 4th CB and he still got exposed.
A few sites had him as the second rated corner after Hayden. All of them had him grouped in at the top.
One of the most important tools a CB needs is speed. Jackson DOES NOT HAVE IT. A new coach won't make him any faster.
Wilson didn't show anything til later in the year. CBs usually struggle. McCourty got roasted a lot last year for NE, but because of the defensive system, he was in position to get some INTs. Hell, K-Jax had 2 INTs, lol.
Did Kyle Wilson get on the field? Getting thrown into the fire or to the wolves would be a massive understatement.
