Wasn't it against Oakland we had that horrible game on offense with like 8 yards total offense or something?

That's the biggest reason I can't stand listening to him on the radio... which is a shame because I do like to hear Vandemeer's semi-biased/trying to stay neutral opinion on the Texans... but they have to give him hours and hours of air time to where he can express his "inside info" as facts.

This morning was all about how "great of a guy Matt Leinert is", and how "I've talked with him in the lockeroom, he's a good guy, and Kubiak likes what he sees of him in practice and when they watch film, and Kubiak definitely sees some potential if they're willing to give him that money, and you know he's the same guy who had all that success at USC, and BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH...."

Yeah John... and "Tony Boselli will be starting in the Bills game by week 6.... for sure."

Also, I want to point out that I would hate Manning or Cromartie...both overrated

LOL. They hyping of Leinart is even more puzzling because he's the backup. The backup. BACKUP. Why does that get any airtime at all?

I would offer 14-16 million to him. I want this guy badly, this would make our at least 2 times better, our safeties could cheat over to help the side Nnamdi isn't on. Our defense can get better pressure on Qb's, I am begging to let this happen.

well, manning would be by far the best safety in franchise history, and cromartie by far the best corner in franchise history.

dont see how manning is overrated...he'd probably fall in the 15-20 range in safety rankings in the nfl. he's a good player. never hear him being talked about as all-world or anything.

Easy there... that's a lot of money for a 30 year old for a team that has more needs than simply a shut-down corner.

That sounds like the agent spreading that rumor.

I have yet to see THIS be the sole reason why somebody chooses Houston over a bigger city.

This is going to be a big day in Texans history either way. Yikes.

On Manning - I want him because he's versatile, and he's as good as any safety left on the market. And he can return kicks, something we have been sorely lacking since Andre Davis was relevant.

I think that is just Kuharsky throwing in his .02. He's not saying that is the reason that we are in the lead.

EDIT: I need to step away from the BBS. Can't remember the last time I double posted like this.

Even though he's the best safety left on the market?

If we miss on him, it's Huff or Sensabaugh....or worse

There are more needs but give me a pro bowler over 2 decent corners, I just believe our defense if Texans signed Nnamdi I think at 12-14 the most I see the Texans signing is Sensabaugh

that would still be radical improvement from the secondary they ran out there last season.

Report: Texans 'moved into the lead' for Nnamdi
    Posted by Will Brinson

All the offseason talk this week about the No. 1 free agent in the land, Nnamdi Asomugha, has centered around him joining Rex Ryan and Darrelle Revis with the Jets. There's good reason for that, as it would put the two-best cornerbacks in the NFL on the same team.

But let's not get too far ahead of ourselves, because there are still other teams in play. For instance, the Houston Texans who, according to the NFL Network's Michael Lombardi, have "moved into the lead" for Nnamdi.

Lombardi reports that he's hearing the Texans have hopped everyone else by potentially offering $12-to-14 million per year for Asomugha's shutdown services.

As you know from last year's offseason, Revis Island is currently appraised at $11.5 million per year.

And that, my friends, is the rub of this situation -- how can the Jets legitimately give Asomugha more money than Revis? They can't, really. I mean, they can if it works under the salary cap, but they would immediately be telling the guy they prop up as the best cornerback in the NFL (Revis) that he is, in strict terms of financial measurement, not the best cornerback in the NFL.

It's totally possible that Revis would put that aside to generate one of the most dominant secondaries we've ever seen (and the defense would be epic as a whole too), but in case you missed all of 2010's offseason and every episode of "Hard Knocks" from last year, Revis isn't a guy who wants to feel underpaid.

Which is great news for the Texans (or anyone else chasing Asomugha) -- if they can figure out a way to get under the cap and pay Nnamdi more than Revis is currently making, they greatly improve their chances of landing the top free agent on everyone's board.

After extensive meetings 49ers have informed CB Nate Clements he will be released. Could return later, but SF clears over $7M in cap now
