Kobe is in the decline, and he would instantly be the #1 option if he went to LA over Kobe. Plus, Kobe will probably just play 3 more seasons.

He's working out with Hakeem this year too. I think losing to Atlanta has motivated Dwight a little more. Dwight really had passing difficulty in that series. I think he wants Hakeem to now teach him how to better react to double teams. Because it was clear that single coverage isn't stopping Dwight any more.
I was scared when I saw the thread title. Knowing that I won't have to hate Dwight because he's Lebron's teammate makes me happy. It was tough to stop rooting for Wade. Still hope Howard brings his talents to H-Town. We need you, Superman!
Dwight would never come to Houston. LOL. We don't have that appeal. Would be sick if he joined OKC. They need a post presence. Perk is great defensively and all, but Dwight is a beast.
you forgot Andrew "untouchable" Bynum. Plus, if he did that he'll be the Kobe to Shaq's Jordan. I don't think DH wants that, esp. in today's NBA where the team you play has zero impact on how popular you are no matter how small it is (i.e. LBJ being the NBA's most popular player despite playing in the Cavs). Personally, I'm hoping both C. Lee and Hakeem are brainwashing him to coming here. Other than Orlando and LA, Houston is the team where the premier big men play (Moses, Dream, Mutombo, Yao).
If you saw Dwight and Kobe and their production last year, you know who is the better player. It's Dwight by a pretty large margin, if you take into account both ends of the floor. The perception that he'll be Kobe to Shaq's Jordan are just the haters who claim Lebron is the 2nd best player on the heat. If DH continues to improve from what he did last year, he is arguably the best player in the league. Kobe isn't that anymore, or even close to it. Kobe may still take the last second shots b/c he's a perimeter player, but that team will be DH's from the get-go. Gasol could have taken that mantle in the playoffs from Kobe last year but he choked. DH has been getting a lot of hype in the NBA world, and yet he's still not very popular with the general public. In general, big men are not as popular as perimeter players; that's just a fact. Therefore, playing in a certified big media market will give him more exposure, considering the Lakers are the most popular NBA team in the world. I think if he leaves Orlando, it's to one of the bigger media markets in the NBA. And Andrew Bynum.... he's untouchable until DH says he wants to go to the Lakers.
We need to figure out how to get Dwight to Houston. That is why I say: Trade the barn for Chris Paul. Do whatever it takes to get him this year. The Hornets are trying desperately to get sold as they can no longer be managed by the league two years in a row. If it means taking up bad contracts and sending out our best talent, then we should not hesitate to do so. I think that this is the only way that Dwight would come to Houston. I really don't think that there is any other superstar available. Use our left over assets to clear up just enough space for a max contract for Dwight. Since we are 3 deep at each position, we should have enough quality players to be able to complement Howard/Paul.
Why? The last thing Orlando needs is an overpaid talent like Bosh. Plus, would Dwight even resign with the Heat? I doubt it, and so will Pat Riley. No way that either team likes this trade...
