I fully expect Aso to be on a team not named the Houston Texans. Doesn't change that fact that the tweet ended nothing.

    I'll respectfully disagree.

As good as Aso is, he's 30 years old and already looking ahead at a post-playing career.

If you can get a top tier corner (who's 3 years younger than Aso) along with resigning arguably the best FB in football (who helped big time in Foster's great season and is a great team leader) for the same price.... YOU DO IT!!! Heck, even if it costs more than Aso, I'd still do it with no question.

Yeah, it's not a glaring disparity for me or anything, just how I see it.

Aso is that much better than ANYONE else at such a key position and one of IMMENSE need for us.

I know FB is an oft-underrated position...but I think we could get average production there and still be an awesome offense. On the other hand, we need ALL the help we can manage on D.

    Just my .02.

How? MLS All-Star game just started and Philly/SF still have a couple innings to go.

    EDIT: ...OIC.

If Joseph makes his decision tonight then he's accepting his offer from the Bengals. I mean everyone who would be going after Joseph is currently going after Aso.

My prediction is that we'll eventually sign a couple of guys. They'll be upgrades, but only because our current guys completely suck. They still won't be good players, or anything better than mediocre. And we'll all hang our heads in disappointment.

The Texans were in play for weddle last night so I disagree. I think smith/kubiak are doing what they have to do. It's just whether someone is going to take the bait. I'm sure there's a deal on the table for both Joseph and Aso. The Texans would be smart to give Aso the ultimatum deal and reach out to the other corners.

so ....Here is the recap based on all the noise and whine

1st place 49ers...Positives: based on being close to Holly woody-i.e. acting ties, bay area that he feels still comfortable with, plus with clearing room may have most money to offer compared to the other two in serious contention. . .
Negatives: Not going to really win, weakest of the 3, no cred on wanting to win

2nd place Jets...Positives: Best chance to ween, best media pump up attention place (HBO, etc.)
Negatives: Revis getting feelings hurt if things don't go his way?, least cap room of 3

3rd place Texans...Postives: Can be a differance maker and lead a worst to much better change in defense, can get PAID!, Good chance to get in playoffs and perhaps deep
Negatives: so far from la-la land, attention?,
