less than likely.. it will be a tropical storm or depression when it lands. Alot of the models have it hitting south of houston, but our weather guy at work thinks there's a good chance it will land more north than what the models say.

The NHC originally gave this invest a 0% of developing. Now it's a TS with a possibility of a Hurricane. It all depends on the dry air pushing away and what happens over the super hot July gulf waters. I don't think anyone has a clue as to what it will be or where it's heading right now. Give it another 12-24 hours and the Cone should give most a good idea.

So excited to see Dr. Frank on TV for 12 hours a day now.

Seems like that north shift is common for storms moving across the Gulf toward Texas.

Well, this should bring some much needed rain to Texas, right?

yes, wherever it hits...if it is a small storm and hits well south of us then we won't see much of rain.

Im calling my shot: Don will jog north Friday night and hit right on the Texas/Louisiana border as a cat 1 hurricane.

Got the generator ready and everything, if it hits i'll be prepared. Hopefully Verizon doesn't go out big time like AT&T did in my area when Hurricane Dike hit, and I can enjoy some nice tethering, or online gaming :p

If you are serious, absolutely not. This storm may never become strong enough to warrant an evacuation. If you are in a low lying area prone to flooding you definitely want to keep up to day on its progress. Now if this grows to a Cat 2, 3 or higher, we will all be taking cover. Don't think that will happen. Wait and Watch. By Thursday evening, we should have much clearer picture of what is going to happen.

Anyone who wants this storm to directly hit Houston is an idiot, even a cat 1 can cause a lot of pain and suffering.

*arkoe doesn't take hurricanes seriously unless it's a cat 4 or higher.
