That was last season. If the Rams find a WR1 or Cardinals find the right QB, the 49ers shouldn't be in the running for anything.
Several teams have started to sign draftees...we haven't signed any yet, right? Any correlation with FA plans and signing draftees? Not sure how that works in this hyper-FA climate.
Eh, he went to Cal, and played for the Raiders. He might like the familiarity of the Bay Area. I'm just hoping that money talks in this instance, and remaining the highest paid corner in the NFL (while also playing on an up-and-coming team) will be enough to bring him to Houston.
He has 9 kids. A ton of child support. No state income tax. He is ours if we want him. He will chase the money.
But Mcnair paid 700 million to buy the team! That should be enough to keep us all happy for at least 20 years, right?
Can't be mad at the dude if he chooses: - NY over Houston (the city) - Ryan over Kubiak/Phillips - A great defense over one of the worst in the league - Near SB team over perennial loser The Jets are honestly the best choice if it's not all about the $$. And we don't even know how much more we can offer.
Apologies. I kind of assumed everyone lost hope on Asomugha as we are competing against the Jets for his services. The only hope we have is if his price is too high for New York. I think Child support is an easy target. I wouldn't mind if we got him and Rogers. It would be a great free agency for us. The idea of Kareem Jackson starting is worrisome even though I fell our rookie Harris will take his spot by the start of the season. I think we need two corners. Two vets if this team has playoff aspirations.
Haha^^ Eagles have signed 10 of their 11 picks, although they just about let all their FAs walk. Other teams have sprinkled in some signings. Not sure about the correlation and if there is one though. And no, we havent signed any of our picks yet. I guess they're taking care of their own FAs first, then UFA's and their rookies.
I believe the 49ers haven't dropped Clements yet, but will do so immediately if Asomugha agrees to their offer (~16+M per) over the Jets' (~$12M per) As far as the Texan Dumpster Diving Options, I'd currently say Clements >> Cromartie >>>>>> Newman Not upset at Aso and Weddle choosing others. Annoyed if the Jags snag Landry. No excuse for them to grab better DBs on the market. Both over the cap coming into this, the Cowboys in a big way.
That's probably just in response to the amazing scoop @NickScurfield JUST broke: "Texans, 49ers, Jets in on Aso"
If we dont make a splash on a veteran FA corner then hopefully Justin Teague would step up and suprise us. I think he was TCU's top corner last year.
I really don't see how it does. Just seems like more speculation. "Oh Nnamdi wants to be an actor, so he'll be going to New York."
