SEPAK TAKRAW:Kungfu volleyball?

Yeah, seen this before.

Still always awesome. I first learned of this game when I was 6 or 7. I never played i though.

 

That game is huge in SE Asia. Tried it once and one of the hardest sports I've ever tried.

 

Did you just watch the World Cup thing earlier this week?

I watched the Thailand team absolutely annihilating Myanmar (sp?) and hosts Malaysia. Apparently the Michael Jordan of Sepak Takraw is currently playing for Thailand. Dude has one of those backflip kicks that is undefendable. He did it all with a smile too!

He's that guy in blue, number 3.

Some guys in my neighborhood plays it. I think they use a volleyball court with lowered nets. Not as good, but still damn impressive.

 

Used to play a more casual version of it when i was a kid. Instead of using a rattan ball we used a metal washer laced with plastic straw or tassel.

 

Anybody remember playing hackey sack in the 80's? I swear this is just hackey sack with a net. lol.

 

Eh. Seems like after they do the backflip kick, it's over. Volleyball still seems more competitive.

 

What precision and athleticism. That is crazy! Too bad it's always over on either the serve or if they manage to set up, the backflip kick.

 

Volleyball may be more competitive, but this looks 100 times cooler. :grin:

 

IMHO, more backflips, less hand-in-hand swing, that's too gay.

 

This is real popular in Thailand and Laos.

 

This **** is hardcore!!!! It's Soccer meets Volleyball...
