So tomorrow is officially my last day of college ever (FINALLY) and I just got offered a job that I ended up taking. I'm going to be with Enterprise. Anyone have any comments on Enterprise as an employer? They seem very legit to me, and I'd like to hear what anyone else has to say if they have any info.
Sorry, but you are going to hate your life. You pretty much do b**** work, like washing cars in a suit.
Prepared to deal with blank stares from slack-yawed yokels when you ask them if they'd like to prepay for a tank of gas at the discounted rate of $3.25 or whatever. And you'll also be responsible for trying to scare customers into buying the supplemental insurance.
was going to say pooper, but it's more like party pooper now. g'luck with the job, rocketfan21. folks have a hard time coming across 'em these days.
Don't forget the people who yell at you because the person who reserved the Sedan didn't bring it back on time, so now they've got to use a minivan.
From the sounds of it, being able to sell these things is a huge part of promotion opportunities and the chance to move up throughout the company. Financially it's a big step up for me compared to my job history, and I finally have benefits. I agree with all the things that people are saying will suck about the job, but overall I expect it to be a good experience for me. Not too hyped at all about the town that I would move to, though. Still in Montana, but a town I'm not so familiar with called Great Falls. I really see eye to eye with what they do and what I would like early on in my career. And it's not very easy to find a job right now. I'm just super excited to finally get back to work. I had been talking to Sherwin-Williams, but then they started to give me the cold shoulder!
Well, you will probably get a phaser and you will be able to use the transporter to go a lot of places and you can take breaks on the holodeck and stuff, but you're going to spend a lot of time doing b****work like replacing the dilithium crystals and watching for warp core breeches.
what exactly would you be doing? being a CSR making rentals available to customers or like someone else mentioned having to wash cars? I would imagine that if you are just a CSR renting cars out to people it may not be too bad in that you probably wont have a huge workload I dont see too many people renting out cars in Great Falls (but then again I am not familiar at all with the area but assuming their rental centers see far less volume than the officers I have been to in the major cities) I think it will be good for you but it may get a bit boring after a while (like most jobs) I wouldnt stay there too long but at least you have a job, benefits and probably can be looking for something better in the mean time. Congrats on getting the job though its never easy nowadays. Also would it be possible for you to upgrade my next rental for free or give me the CF discount next time I rent a car from them? like I'll book it online and give you the order # and you can work your magic before I go pick it up at the office here?
The key with any job is to build your resume and know were you wanna go. If you can move up into upper level management with this or any job then you will have a resume that can push you into a better job. If I had a chance to be you again, a young kid starting out, I would certainly set goals. Even with your current job. To your superiors I would make sure that they know that you want to move to this position. Also, I would definitely begin evaluating my work environment, is the management team run by a professional manager or does the guy run his people and not allow them to advance. The most important thing is to not waste a lot of time with a job if the right people aren't in place for you to advance. I'd rather make less money somewhere where I knew that I had the opportunity to work with good people than a bad job that holds you bad. Now, you might not necessarily have a say in that, but don't waste time to leave a job if the manager is unprofessional and cutting all sorts of corners. Don't let somebody else bring you down is the main point.
Good for you bro, I missed the cut back in '02 but thank god for Walgreen's! Tough it out for 2-3 years and save your cash (not in a 401k, but something fully liquid like a savings or regular investment account), then go back to grad school, or just spring for a CFA certification. Or even better, try and transfer to a fleet buyer position.
There commercials always get me so excited. I feel like I'm going to Vegas or out with the girls when I see those commercials. <iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/d5ThsHyPl-Y" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/FfERo7v2z5k" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Not to sound mean, but that's it? Your college degree is only good for that? Renting out cars? Was it an easy degree?
congrats! My bro-law worked there. He hated it but hes also had probaly 20 jobs since college (8 years) so probaly not a good indicator.........
