Everyone is gonna go ape ish if we don't sign a corner. I'll still watch but won't be optimistic about the upcoming season. Maybe that's when we'll make some real noise (fans giving up hope)..
Who the hell wants to stay in Cinci? Talk about a franchise going backwards. And I'm telling you guys, McNabb is going to explode this year.
Exactly my thinking. We have no excuse to nab Joseph at the same price tag if it comes down to that. The Texans better have a back-up plan.
But they gave so much to Holmes, how can they afford it? http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/story/_/id/6807886/new-york-jets-agree-deal-santonio-holmes-sources-say
Of course they are, the longer it goes on, the more chance they have of being outbid/outgunned. Like I said before, they likely have his demands, and they're scrambling to find the money. It will take some time, but if they take too much time, another team may end up putting a number in front of Nnamdi that the Jets can't possibly compete with given their situation.
Word is Holmes' contract is only about a $3mil cap hit this year. If true, take notes Texans, this is how a true FO works. I know it's don't hate the player, hate the game, but the Jets are quickly reaching Miami Heat level of annoyance for me.
Good lord they are "desperate" to sign Aso yet the already have one All Pro CB. What would that make the Texans?
That team better be us. At least, we need to drive up the price out of the Jets' range. They would be scary and easily the favorites in the AFC.
It's like the Jets are an obese guy trying to find a place to cram another cruller in his gullyhole, while the Texans sit mealy-mouthed in his shadow, hoping the big fat guy just eventually gets tired and gives up.
Look for "smart with the money", "efficient", "filled more holes", "great value" to be the headline. Why can't the Texans make their efforts public like the Jets? If, in fact, there really are efforts. My plan B got shot to ship. I wanted Joseph/Weddle if we couldn't get Aso and someone else. So we better get Aso!
