Really? Explain. You are taking someone who sucks at returning and is a below average receiver over 2 receivers who have proven to be #1s and at this stage, can be an awesome #2.
well looks like the jets are the front runner, which is depressing. I still don't understand how they can sacrifice that much for the guy but if Aso is willing to take less money then obviously the texans bigger offer isnt enough to convince him. Good to see butler resigned. You need a solid backup tackle. It's very important. Jacoby...I hope that contract figure isnt right. It seems high. I like the guy's big play potential but his consistency and slight decline has been disappointing. Someone else mentioned Dickerson...I'm looking for him to be more important this year. That kid can play. and lulz at the people upset because they texans have resigned their own FA and someone claiming that's proof that they aren't looking for other FA. Some of you people have serious issues.
I love the Butler signing because it was cheap and he's skilled enough to start on the O line. The Jacoby deal? Really? 3 years, $10 mil? We are done
exactly!!! these idiots are blind skeptics. there is NOTHING in the Texans history to suggest they're doing anything other than busting their ass to sign the very best free agents on the market!!!
FWIW, I have no problem with the Texans wanting to resign their own players. I'm glad they kept Butler. I just don't like Jacoby and wanted him gone. I also won't be mad at the Texans if Aso signs with the Jets. If he goes there you had no shot to compete against them. That's a better situation.
Why does McClain seem to have a negative vibe about Nnamdi! Almost like he doesnt want it to happen after saying it wouldnt for months! Drives me crazy that the way over the cap Jets can sign a couple players. Holmes to probably a huge contract and its assumed they are the leaders for Nnamdi's services! We sign a couple small contracts and were 7 million under, but now we have to restructure every contract according to McClain!
I'd be mad if the Texans don't offer a better financial deal than the Jets and Asomugha goes there. Yes, there's a lot of media talk about the Texans making a strong push, but I'll wait for more definitive reports. As a fan, I've been burned by Bob's penny pinching too many times for me to take for granted that they're making an all-out effort.
Doesnt appear so. Schefter says w/ Jets signing Holmes, Jets less likely to sign Edwards, still after Nnamdi Asomugha
Well it depends on what the Jets offer. I think if Aso signs with the Jets it's one of those "That's where he was going no matter what" kind of deals. If that's the case, it is what it is. Bob isn't really a penny pincher as evidenced by the fact that the team is always up against the cap. They just spend a lot on mediocrity.
