ah, yes... it's all been part of their masterplan. the "let's squander 10 years of existence, money, and fan hearbreak for the one-off opportunity to sign a top tier free agent for the first time ever" philosophy.

countless superbowls have been one through that tried and true method.

The fact that they've basically been up against the cap their entire existence doesn't engender understanding from me when it comes to potentially not signing a big FA, it makes me more angry. A team with one winning season in its entire history has never had any cap room?

    Ridiculous.

    Were all frustrated.

To even have a slim chance of landing a once in a lifetime FA that could fill a huge hole in your defense (shut down half a field) is something the fans can hang on to...for the hope of change.

I see some bashing bc we dont have cap space and ppl being homers..thinking we have the ability to sign nnamdi....

my question is, wouldn't one national writer just come out and say, Texans wont be able to make it work? As opposed to...Texans will offer him the most?

Matt Leinart apparently going to Seahawks. Didn't the Texans place a first round tender on him or with the new cba tender picks are no longer?

So the seahawks are signing both Tarvaris Jackson and Leinhart?

I think I remember reading back before the lockout that those tenders were meaningless once the new CBA was put into place. It's funny though, Tavaris Jackson goes to Seattle with hopes of him finally getting a stable starting job then Pete brings in his boy Leinart who is probably already penciled in as the starter now. Its like when Sage went to Minnesota only to have them sign Brett Favre (this is not a literal Favre to Leinart talent comparison)

That would be bad news for Leinhart then.

I dont know the official terms for it but basically that tender thrown out the window with FA going back to 4 years. Therefore Matt a UFA and can sign with Seattle.

Leinart had to choose between a familiar scheme with Shanny in Washington or a familiar face with Pete Carrol in Seattle. I would have chosen WSH, would be easier to beat out John Beck than Jackson.

    From Rotoworld

The Newark Star-Ledger confirms the Jets have "reached out" to free agent Nnamdi Asomugha.
This comes on the heels of an earlier report from ESPN's Adam Schefter that the Jets plan to "make a run at" Asomugha to pair him with Darrelle Revis. Multiple reports suggest Asomugha is willing to leave money on the table to sign with playoff contender, and Rex Ryan's squad fits the bill. Asomugha also has designs on an acting career, which may give the Jets yet another edge.
