well that's always the case, we really do know very little. I think the texans do much more than most give them credit on here.

If they don't get Aso, then i can already hear the "they didn't try" yell.

For how many times we have been disappinted in our lives, the glimmer of hope that something tite could happen to one of our sports teams keeps me excited.

Until I am let down again.

    ****ing Houston . . . .

you're missing the point, i think, but you've posted yet another solid defense of this stellar organization. :)

my point was only that these specific reports connecting us to awesomewa are in no way substantiated or corroborated by any facts other than the fact that some analyst thinks we SHOULD be chasing him because he's really good in the secondary and our secondary is atrociously bad.

I believe Houston fans are grasping at any glimmer of hope, in this case perhaps to our own demise, but between the Texans, Rockets, and Astros it's been. . . We'll call it bumpy.

Mix that with the fact there has been no sports news except the women's world cup and Yao retiring since the lockouts begun, it's been a perfect storm of misery.

I thought that went without saying. I almost expected to check some boards at about 10 this morning and find "We don't have Aso yet? FIRE EVERYONE! FRONT OFFICE IS STUPID! BOB IS CHEAP!" trash.

Bingo. It's like our fans assume 1) The cap isn't an issue (when it really is) and 2) The best of the best all want to be here and all the Texans have to do is snap their fingers and make it so.

Bottom line is, if we don't end up with Awesome-O and Weddle, Texan Nation is going to be livid, no matter what happened behind the scenes.

Bucs offering 4 year 58.5 million/ 22 million guaranteed to Nhamdi. They are going to have to do better than that. He was payed more in Oakland.

maybe if they ever made a free agent signing worth cheering for, we'd all feel better about it. but the perspective of a texan fan isn't merely colored by the last 24 hours that the lockout has been lifted.

i get the point and i agree.

I'm just making reference to the blind criticisms that say the texans havent tried in the offseason in the past. When in fact they may have but just because it wasnt blindly speculated by guys on TV, then they texans were not trying.

I just alway think the texans didnt try to sign him argument is a bad one in general.

I think we can do better. Get R Done

Do we have a chance to nab Weddle and Nmadi? We would go from the worst secondary in the league to arguably the best.

it doesn't help that they have zero track record otherwise.

it doesn't help that our owner came out before the deal was agreed to saying that we weren't going to have much to work with.

it doesn't help that we went an entire season last year watching the worst pass defense in NFL history, arguably, while trotting the same chaps out there expecting a different result each week.

they create a lot of this backlash pretty well all by themselves.

I'm still cheering about the Arian Foster signing. Dude is a beast. Pollard was another solid signing but didn't ultimately pan out.

you're right...foster was an undrafted free agent. a great signing for sure! a little different from going out and acquiring a big name free agent, though...that's more of what i'm talking about.

i cheered the pollard signing...i still think that was a good move.

i'm sorry that i wasn't clear, but my point was absolutely responsive to your post. you talked about "blind fans" and their backlash...i explained some reasons why it exists.

The problem is that no big name has ever wanted to come to Houston. It's similar to the Rockets situation. I think our perception around the league has gotten better bc we have a legit core esp on offense.

I would be ecstatic with Nmadi but Weddle and a corner like Joseph would be even better, imo..
