Agreed. Lots of free money if Okoye and Slaton are gone. Either Leinart or Orlovsky will be the backup with the other one gone.

I thought we cut Andre Davis last year. Is his salary still on the books?

4.7 million for this upcoming season.

People keep pointing to the fact that we only have 7 mil in cap space...with a handful of cuts, we'll have plenty of room to be big players in free agency.

We actually cut him in February. Did not realize that. Not sure if his salary is being counted or not.

Could he be franchised? If so, what would the effect be?

Not sure. I wonder what the average salary is for FBs since that is what the franchise number is based on.

    Interesting idea.

Aren't they changing the franchise tag to a percentage of the salary cap now? If that's the case then no FB will ever be franchised.

Wasn't sure actually. If so, I agree.

Im thinking that numberi s between 1million and 2 million dollars. I dont blame him for wanting more, but I just dont think he's going to get it.

Just looked it up. There's not a separate category for FBs. He'd be paid Jamaal Charles range. Not going to happen.

These tweets (or whatever they are) seriously sound like they're from 2 months ago.

Really? We'll need to replace our free agents if they leave? Thanks, John. Way to be on the cutting edge. I guess that's why they call you The General...

Solomon's new Article about Aso - LOL at the digg directed at John Mclain and printed twice in a row in the article:

"It would be interesting to know where recent rumblings that pursuing Asomugha might not be a good move were born. Note the Texans have played much of the media in this town like B.B. King plays Lucille."

Our rookie pool figure is $5.592 million, per John Clayton. (eg how much we will have to spend to pay our rookies).

You typed the words right out of my mouth. I'm so freaking sick of McLain. So many other teams seem to have their "token reporter" who is able to find a scoop or two, and all this jackass can come up with is info I could get from any random redneck down the street.

    Whew. I feel better now.
