Why? He would still be getting his money, there is zero reason to keep trotting that dog out there, it would be good for everyone if he were to sign somewhere else and still be paid by us.

No he doesn't. He has a list of 12 teams he cannot be traded to. That leaves 17 teams he doesn't have a say in.

BrooksBall... msn got to it before me. If they're mediocre, what, 1 mil and 2 mil in arb 4 and 5 years from now? Or lock them up at 2.5 mil over 3 years for years 5/6/7? If they end up really good, you'd be paying them regardless.

It certainly makes sense in some situations to wait. I think those situations are when you have someone blocking a guy at the ML level, or a guy clearly needs more time to develop. If Altuve comes up and has absolutely nothing at this level, I'd imagine they'd be ok with him starting at AAA next year unless he earns the job in ST.

Super 2 situations really only work out when you *know* you have a stud on your hands and delay them appropriately in year 1. Especially because you know you'll have to lock them up to a LT deal early in the arb process, so you might as well get 3.5 years instead of just 3 before that

You are right that I have no idea. I don't listen to much sports talk anyway, and have never listened to it in Houston. But all the losing in Houston can't help. I assume that Giants fans are much happier, despite the fact that their offense is abysmal.

    He is right.

I cringe everytime a caller dials in on 790,610,1560, etc.

There are a few times in which someone calls in with something insightful and knowledgeable

i just thought it was funny because they got him for offense and he made some good defensive play in the game and that's what they were talking about. i was watching the game a little also at someone's house and they mentioned it.

it was just weird being from houston, but yeah, i'm going to start trying to stack some paper

I do too. That's one of the reasons I'm not a big listener to Charlie Pallilo on 790. His show is almost exclusively taking calls.

You've got to remember that these are just simple sportsfans. These are people spawned by espn. The common clay of the internet generation. You know... morons.
