what's the difference between him playing 3rd and 1st really? would be below average power numbers at either corner, and no matter how hard he worked, he'd certainly be a below average defensive 3rd baseman.

I think he has plenty of potential to put up league average or better numbers at 3rd. There is a pretty big difference between what you expect from the two corners.

Defensively, I agree. Just a pipedream.

Got to say, since May 1st, Lee has been a good offensive player.

Damn...two outstanding defensive plays right there.

    Altuve looks good so far.

It looks to me like Ed Wade was a victim of adverse selection during the Happ and Wallace trades.

He should have asked, "why do they want to dump these guys on me?"

I remember everyone saying "Wallace is rated higher than Gose! This is a good trade!" Welp, there was a reason the Jays were so willing to trade for a lower-rated prospect.

Pence just having a forgettable couple of days. Not a big deal but he could've held him there.

Well, not holding him costs another run.

Crap. :( I thought we could at least come out with an honorable score in this game.

Very possible... my biggest issue was age... I wanted us to get younger prospects, even if more raw and unknown.

And that was not something you typically see from Pence, unlike the bad routes. I think he's understandably phased a bit by his bad play/luck recently.

I forget, do the Pirates have a new pitching coach this season?

Their interim pitching coach last year was given the full-time gig this year.

In order to not lose 100 games this season, the Astros will have to play .500 baseball or better the rest of the way

When was the last time this team was 40 games under .500? It must have happened well before my time.
