No, that isn't enough said. Defensive stats over time have significance and despite "what your eyes/memory are telling you," Lee probably has been good this season. Stats from one season are typically unrelieable though. Look at the past 3 years to better evaluate both players. On the first point, no OFer "constantly" costs his team runs. I think you missed the point again. The difference between good play and bad play in corner outifeld is marginal. It's a matter of a small sample of plays over an entire season. Pence gets the job done but not at a high level. Not even average in certain areas. He has a rifle of an arm, no doubt. Unfortunately there is a lot more to playing the position. And he doesn't make nearly as many tough/plus plays as you are alluding to. Every player makes a great defensive play once in a while. This is my final word on the topic for now.
ERA is now 6.12 but remember...he deserves a shot to fix things at the major league level. Edit - They have zero choice now, he HAS to get sent down.
Poor Altuve, so excited to make it to the bigs, then he looks around and realizes he's the best hitter on the club.
Heh... has there been any good justification for it by Mills and/or Wade? I was saying that it isn't a big deal initially but it seems to be happening too much recently. I believe he still has the 4th most PA on the team.
Mills is going to have come up with a REAL nice explanation as to why Happ should stay in the rotation. Probably use the bad defense as his reasoning and how he BATTLED through the middle innings.
