Nope. No thanks. There are a ton of reasons to say no.

First, I think he'll get more than the league minimum. Before signing with Detroit, there were questions about whether or not he was even healthy enough to play. He showed that he was and that he can be a decent role player.

Second, I don't know that there is room in the rotation for him.

Third, if we did have room for him, I wouldn't want the Rockets to put the development of others on hold to let McGrady play out the string.

Fourth, he's a role player and nothing more. This team doesn't need any more role players.

The pros don't outweigh the cons. His present skill set and level are not needed. We already have them in other players.

If you must bring back a washed up player, bring back Vernon Maxwell. Even at 45, he'd help the Rockets more than T-Slack.

    One. Star.

Nice...look at the averages, not the games eh? Go back and look at what I said about "consistency".

Better yet, let's bring back Cuttino Mobley. He wants to play again. He's also less of a drama queen who likes to parade around in other teams' attire. How Artest can he be?

You're joking (I think), but you're actually making a good point. If we bring in McGrady for such a low cost, it frees up somebody else to be traded, such as Lee, Bud or Morris. Lee puts us in the game for Omer Asik...

But I still don't think he will sign here for the minimum. He can get more than that. If he signs for the minimum, it will be for Miami, Dallas, LA, San Antonio, maybe Boston...

I've always been one of his defenders, but there isn't one legit reason to sign him.

He isn't a long term help, and this team needs to think long term.
He would take time from Budinger and Morris's development
He is a role player now, nothing more
Between Martin, Lee, Budinger and Morris there simply isn't court time.

If the rockets manage some kind of blackbuster and get a superstar, maybe he'll be worth it as a bench guy, but as is he's serves no tangible purpose.

This sounds more like an Astros move than a rockets one.

No. The term irreconcilable differences applies here. Anybody that's followed this team closely over the past three years knows that.

I would if we traded most of our wings/pgs for a star at the 3/2spot. He would be a nice backup then

The guy is done, at this point, he can not beat out Budinger, Morris or TWill, we are rebuilding, let him go.....let him go.

I think its just time to move on. I think tracy is a unique player and the locker room stuff is overblown. Hayes and brooks loved the guy. I think its time to move forward and have championship aspirations vs just making the playoffs. I didn't want yao for the vet min nor do I want tracy for it. Now if next summer the rockets get howard and williams, I might consider it, but not now.

real bullshŃ–t crap. He could easily be a starter here at SF if healthy but not because of his strength but because of all weaknesses of our small forwards. You'd better chew than talk, man. If T-Will won't change his attitude our SF position is one of the worst in the league
