When do you usually brush your teeth in the morning in relation to your breakfast? If you don't eat breakfast, when would you brush your teeth if you did eat breakfast...

This maybe be a bad assumption, but i hope everyone brushes their teeth in the morning!

I brush after breakfast. If I don't have breakfast, I'll brush before I leave the house.

First thing in the morning, then sometimes after breakfast. Regardless, I'll brush at some point during the day too, unless I'm super busy. Also, before bed, obviously.

There is one law of physics that never seems to make any of the text books...do not drink orange juice after brushing your teeth.

Well I brush when I wake up, but if I eat something like eggs I will sometimes brush my teeth again.

I wake up, brush my teeth, then workout, then eat.

if you can get past the morning breath, it makes sense. it just seems like a waste of time and toothpaste to brush before. of course, if i'm going out for breakfast, I will brush before.

Why wouldn't you? I brush my teeth and use mouthwash before I go to bed. It should still be pretty damned clean when I wake up. I'd expect it to be more in need of brushing after I've eaten something, especially if I've had orange juice or coffee with breakfast. Isn't the saying "brush AFTER every meal"?

If we do both, there's no option to vote. POLL FAIL. Should have had a NEITHER and a BOTH.

It will NOT be "damned clean." Bacteria find a haven in your mouth while you're asleep.
    Yes, it is.

I thought brushing too often is bad for your gums. I seldom brush before I eat, unless I'm eating out or I'm eating with company.

I generally try to do it after breakfast. I work out of my house most of the time so it isn't a problem but if I have an early morning meeting I do so before so I am not rushing to get my teeth brushed.

It's actually not a great idea to brush your teeth right after you eat (despite the old habitual prompts).

After you eat, your acidic saliva starts working to get rid of the remaining food in your teeth. That softens the enamel, and brushing at that point can lead to a loss of enamel. It's better just to chew gum or rinse or something.

I brush when I wake up (before I make out with your mom) and before I go to sleep (before I make out with your mom).

    I'm thoughtful like that.

I always floss before I eat, so my gum pockets are open for new food.

It's actually that you shouldn't drink orange juice (or anything acidic like soda) before you brush your teeth.

Since when is saliva acidic? 99% of the time it's neutral and actually is a huge protectant of enamel.

doesnt the bacteria present in plaque cause the breakdown of sugars and make it somewhat acidic?
