I forgot that with this Paraguay win, we're still on course to see Larissa Riquelme disrobe for us fans.

Don't know if Menezes has to go soon; not nominating Kaka, Marcelo, Hulk, Nilmar,... seems really poor judgement.

I disliked his squad choice very much. I don't think Menezes makes it to 2014 as the mgr of the selecao.

Question would be what are the other options?

Isn't Big Phil coaching a side in Brazil? Figure he'd need some convincing to come back and face the scrutiny as the BMIC for Brazil, especially with the pressure of coaching the host country.

I think hes coaching at Palmeiras but there aren't many coaches that would say no to Brazil.. As far as the pressure, if I recall correctly, he coached the 02 squad that won the cup so I think he can handle the pressure.

Good win tonight by Uruguay. This current squad is a special one and I hope they're able to win the whole thing Sunday.

The next game is Paraguay against the tournament's Cinderella, Venezuela. I expect Paraguay to take it down and then lose to Uruguay in the final. Remembering Paraguay's quarterfinal game against Spain in the World Cup, wherein they parked the bus and removed the engine, makes me worried they'll do the same thing.

Cue jokes about the Guayest final possible.

Anyone else torn between wanting Paraguay to win so we can see Larissa Riquelme go naked(and letting a defensive approach to the game win) or seeing a positive futbol side like Uruguay win? I can't decide who I want to win, I'm leaning towards Uruguay and despite Villar being a beast in goal I think one Suarez goal wins it.

    What do y'all think?

Well so far I got it right with a Suarez goal happening, the question is can P'guay and Justo stop Uruguay from scoring more than one. The way the match has gone so far, I'm starting to think Uruguay could put two more past Paraguay and finish with a 3-1 or 3 nil win.

Eh...As hot as Larissa Riquelme is, there are naked pictures of her all over the internet. I wouldn't use that as a reasoning for your rooting interest.

No way! All this time I'm thinking she never posed nude and a simple google search showed me all her glorious lady stuff. Thank you sir, thank you!

(I was leaning towards Uruguay anyway).

    Thanks indeed, nice pictures.

Predicted either Uruguay or Brazil would win the Copa, Brazil was knida depressin though.
Great showing by Suarez and Forlan, Uruguay has some gems. Think Suarez will have a mosnter season for Liverpool.

Batista got fired today, Argentinia also dumped the next friendly game to revamp the whole system and philosophy of Argentinian Soccer.

    Brazil:

Brazil were heavily criticised for their lack of application in the final third during the Copa America, after crashing out at the quarter-final stage to Paraguay.

However, the former Corinthians coach has promised that his side will be more offensive-minded in the future, whilst hinting at a return to their Samba style.

"When you do not get a result, everyone calls the coach into question, and the only way we can stop this is by winning matches," he admitted.

"I will ensure the selection becomes more stable and we want to return to our former ways; that is to take risks and play the kind of football that everybody wants to see."

Agree that Marcelo and Hulk should be added to the squad. I think Nilmar is on the fence. I don't think Kaka is ready at all, though I expect him to be ready in a few months.

I think Menezes is a good coach and building a young team which will mature and peak around 2014. I love the formation he employs as well, it's very Brazilian and that's what they were lacking under Dunga.

I think a front line of Hulk, Pato and Neymar is far more potent and they could conceivably all hit their primes in 2014.

Marcelo had a terriffic season and it's absolutely clear that his defensive play has improved significantly since last year. Then again, I'm not sure an average defender at left back is a good idea in a 4-3-3 system unless the wide forwards are tasked with marking the opposing team's full backs.

I sincerely hope that Robinho is dropped. The guy has been wasting posessions for too long, the club sides are realizing it, and I can't wait till Menezes realizes it.

One other thing, I hope Neymar moves to Europe ASAP. He needs to refine his game and improve his tactical knowledge of the game. While he would look great in a free-flowing Barcelona style team, I think Mourinho could be the coach who knows how to transform his potential into superstardom. If his club career goes wrong, he could end up being the next Robinho, and that would really be a shame.
