Feel free to actually read the thread and connect the dots for yourself. It's only 6 pages. The real ?? is whether or not you want to just keep typing or if you are willing to put your $$ up.
Dwade average vs. Dallas Mavericks 2011 26.5 PPG 55% FG 69% FT 7 RPG 5.2 APG 1.5 SPG 1.5 BPG 2.5 TO Kobe average vs. Celtics 2010 28.6 PPG 40% FG 88% FT 8 RPG 3.9 APG 2.1 SPG 0.7 BPG 3.8 TO Aside from the FG%, where exactly did Wade beasted Kobe the past 2 finals? It seems pretty even across the board. I would say the Celtics Defense contributed heavily to Kobe's low FG percentage.
Mavs are similar to 2009 Magic team, except Magic had better defense due to Howard. Kobe's average: 32.4 PPG 43% FG 84% FT 5.6 RPG 7.4 APG 1.4 SPG 1.4 BPG 3 TO Icehouse made it sound like Kobe sucked balls in the finals compared to Wade. Dude, they were both great in the finals. so stop hating. Here's Wade's avg during 2006 finals where he averaged 16 FT A GAME. 34.7 PPG 46% FG 7.8 RPG 3.8 APG 2.7 SPG 4 TO /end thread.
Hard to say, different kinds of defenders. Wade is the passing lane defender that gambles and gets steals. He is pretty good at man to man but no spectacular. Kobe is more of the man to man defender, but he only defends well when he tries, AKA inconsistent.
Aside from the FG %? Um, one player shooting 55% and the other shooting 40% is a significant difference, especially when it's a guard shooting 55%. So is averaging more assists and less turnovers. And Wade got hurt in that series. Lastly, look at each game individually. Wade was 6/16 in his last game and still shot 55% for the series. It shows how good he was in the previous games. For comparison, Kobe shot under 40% four times that series and under 35% three times that series. Does it still look pretty even to you? No, Icehouse said Wade has had around as many great games in 2 Finals trips as Kobe has had in 7. Start reading. And since you mention the 06 Finals again, that's a perfect example. In that Finals Wade had a: - 42, 13, 2 game on 58% (Game 3) - 36, 6, 3, game on 57% (Game 4) - 43, 4, 4 game on only 39%, with 25 fta's (Game 5) - 36, 10, 5, 4, 3 game on 56% (Game 6) Since you compared this series to Kobe's 09 Finals vs Orlando, please find two Kobe game from that series comparable to the 4 Wade games that I just highlighted. I'll give you Game 1. The others? http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/200906040LAL.html Doesn't look so even anymore does it? And yes, I do think FG% matters.
I'm sorry you got off topic and started thinking this was about how an inferior defensive team from the 90's was better than the 04 Pistons when reality says otherwise. Luckily I'm in a position to 'just keep trying' son, as it seems you've done nothing but fail at EVERY single debatable point with me. I suggest you read up on some basketball and just keep trying.
Again, you can keep typing BS, or you can put your money up and make a tipjar bet since you are so confident in your basketball opinion. The $$ will go to the site and not to me. Put up or shut up, similar to when a man asks you do you want to keep arguing or take it outside. It's really that simple. We can easily see how many folks agree with your perception of reality and basketball opinion.
Each players played six games so lets take a look at all six Game 1 Kobe '10 Wade Points 30 22 Rebs 7 10 Ass 6 6 Fg% 45% 47% 3p% 50% 50% Ft% 90% 40% Kobe had the better game 1 Game 2 21 36 5 5 6 6 40% 65% 28% 28% 100% 66% Wade had the better Game 2 Game 3 29 29 7 11 4 3 34% 57% 14% 50% 100% 75% Wade had the better Game 3 Game 4 33 32 6 6 2 2 45% 65% 54% 0% 87% 66% Wade had the better Game 4 but you its very close Game 5 38 23 5 2 4 8 48% 50% 40% 50% 88% 83% Kobe had the better Game 5 Game 6 26 17 11 8 3 6 47% 37% 25% 0% 100% 71% Kobe had the better Game 6 So looking at it game by game you have a tie and Kobe was playing against a much better defensive team. So to answer your question Yes it is pretty close and considering the defenses faced Kobe's performance was probably better.
Bravo to the post above. Was going to do just the same thing. As for FG%, yes i understand it is very important but its also 1 stat of the game. We consider everything else and they are close. Now if you actually watch the 2006 finals, u can see how many BS FT's wade got in those games. 25 FT in game 5 and 21 in game 6. The Mavericks as a team got 25 in game 5 and 23 in game 6. If you're going to complain on the FT disparity for other teams, then look at the facts for this series as well. It's pretty obvious. Yes, FTA can raise one's FG% because you get bailed out on those shots. Oh, and who did the 2006 Mav's have to defend the paint that is comparable to Howard? I believe Dampier and Diop are not even close.
Oh, and since Icehouse distinctively said that wade has as many great games in 2 finals as kobe has in 7. ill add in some games before 2006. 2002 Finals, game 2 31 points 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks, 2 TO, 8 FTA game 3 32 points 6 rebounds 3 assists 2 steals 0 blocks 3 TO, 6 FTA game 4 19 points 10 rebounds 9 assists1 steal 1 block 4 TO, FTA 2003 Finals, game 3 36 points 6 rebounds 4 assists 1 steal 2 block 6 TO, FTA game 4 25 points 6 rebounds 8 assists 2 steals 0 block 1 TO, 11 FTA 2005 Finals, game 2 33 points 4 rebounds 7 assists 2 steals 0 blocks 5 TO, 5 FTA This is all during the earlier half of the decade. Can we conclusively say that Wade does not have more great final games as kobe? Oh, and look, kobe never got more than 15 FTA in his final games.
If you are going to say someone distinctively said something then you may want to be sure they actually said what you claim they did. Here is my original post: Do you deny that Wade has around as many great games in the Finals?
You are right, looking at it game by game it's close. However, it was close (Kobe being better in Game 5 and 6) AFTER Wade got injured and if you completely discount Kobe's Game 7. But Wade is injury prone so oh well. Oh, and Wade being better in Game 4 wasn't very close. There is a major difference between a guard shooting 45% and 65%.
Those weren't BS FT's. The Mavs sucked at defending scoring wings, and Avery kept fouling Shaq like he was the 2000 verison and putting Miami in the penalty early. Wade is an attacking guard and got his FT's. His high (in an OT game) was less than what Dirk got in a previous round and Dirk had another 20+ game this postseason. And FG% is very important. If Kobe made more shots I doubt LA loses. His bricking was one of the main reasons LA lost 2 of those Finals (04 and 08).
