if it was his last game as a stro, happy trails to ya wandy. will go down as the first pitcher who pops into my mind when thinking of the most underrated pitcher in astros history. let's rally here and get him one last W.
Have they really. That cannot possibly be accurate. If so, that pretty much sums the state of the Astros offense for the past couple of seasons. I guess at least we are not the Mariners who are about the shatter the record for lowest team batting average in a completed season and could easily still break the record for worst team batting average for any season. Hey, if the Astros move to the AL West we may not be the worst team in the division!!!
We'd be worse than Seattle, at least in the short term. We're the worst team in baseball by far. Seattle has much better pitching and they play in the tougher league. Our record would probably be a few games worse at this point if were in the AL. If we do switch leagues, it's gonna be even uglier than it's been here.
At least we're not the Mariners but we are your Astros! What a great slogan they came up with this year.
Without a doubt, being a Mariners fan this season > being an Astros fan this season. (For now) they have one of the most electric starting pitchers in all of baseball in Felix Hernandez, arguably the most electric young pitcher in baseball in Michael Pineda, a young power hitter on the come in Justin Smoak and a stud prospect in Dustin Ackley. Heck, with their pitching, if they had added a bat or two a month or so ago and called up Ackley sooner, they might be challenging to win the AL West.
They've lost 13 games in a row, with the reigning cy-young winner, and all these other good little tid-bits. They need alot more than a bat or two to be competing against the Rangers/Angels.
Want to hear the sad stat of the day from Brownie? The last 28 hits for the Astros have been singles. How pathetic is that...
I'm not sure. The one where iirc he stole and was called out? I thought he was safe but clearly the ump thought otherwise. Thought he snuck underneath the tag or the tag was a tad bit late. But no, I'm not sure if they read it or not. Obviously had the game on but wasn't paying close attention to notice if they did or not.
They're bad. No doubt. I don't seriously think they would be division contenders, but back at the start of summer, it was still anyone's to win. Even before this long losing streak, they were right around .500. The Angels are only six games over and the Rangers were right around that same mark before they caught fire post-All-Star break.
I have a feeling this promo for Fox Game Connect is the new Batting Stance Guy. They'll show it every game and after about a week, you'll find yourself muting the TV or changing the channel until it's over.
