    and ill add to the list robert johnson and brian jones. i thought hank williams too, but i looked it up and he died at 29.

    same here - the only song of hers i am familiar w/ is the rehab one. to me she is more famous for being un-elegantly wasted. as far as musical legacy, she is clearly not in the same class as the other '27ers'.

    and she definitely looked better in the pic on the left.

    Amy Winehouse was ok. She could've been something, but drugs consumed her. Can you guys honestly remember any songs beyond "Rehab"? She hasn't released an album in 4+ years. I wouldn't put her anywhere near the others who died this young.

    I'm fond of "Tears Dry on Their Own," the piece she wrote with Ashford and Simpson. My favorite song by her.

    Very troubled young woman. Great talent. RIP.

    If you were too young to know about Janis Joplin, then you were to young to know about Hendrix and Morrison. They were all about the same age.
