Beasley averaged 19 ppg on 45% shooting. Sure he still has a lot of flaws in his game, but he's not a scrub nor unproven.

You're right about Randolph; he's never going to get it.

But that team does have talent. They just never had a good coach, and Adelman is a great HOF coach. He'll turn that team into a very competitive team.

Wasn't Rambis going to do that with Darko?

Karl Rambis is a scrub coach; Adelman is HOF coach.

These are some pretty impressive scrubs:

    Pau Gasol
    Marc Gasol
    Rudy Fernandez
    JC Navarro
    Jorge Garbajosa

So if we win anywhere close to 30 games next year, you are wrong. Right?

That team was stacked with NBA role players, starters and even had an all-star on their team. I agree with you, those weren't scrubs.

The free form bashing of Adelman in this thread is disgraceful. He'll be great for Minnesota.

You need rings to be a HOF coach.

Any team that depends on Beasley to play a key role is in trouble. He has talent, but the bonehead isn't worth the trouble. Some of the times I saw him last season it was like he was on drugs. His stats look decent but all of Minny's games were basically garbage time. There was no reason for other teams to lock in on him when the outcome was not in doubt. Put him on a good team with high expectations and he will crumble. I said after the trade the backwater "nobody cares" situation in Minny was the perfect place for him to play.

The main problem with Beasley isn't "flaws in his game", it's flaws between the ears. You are correct he isn't unproven. We know what he is.

Chuck Hayes. As a center he was a liability. The Heat had defensive big men as good or better than Chuck pre-2011 but they were all 6-9 or under.

Players don't always play the way the coach wants to it's even harder when they're losing. The temptation is to fallback on what is familiar.

All teams could have done better looking back.

As much as I would like to see Rick Adelman more often at the Target Center for his sake I hope he doesn't take this job.

My fellow clutch fan brother rubio is not a question mark the young man deserves the recognition he belongs in the league and will be a star. The spoon mention was funny but true, he does not make his teamates better like rubio could. They ultimatley are two vast different players. I have all the respect in the world for the spanish team, but let's face it they were pitted against world beaters in kobe, wade, melo, deron...list goes on. As for rubio downplayed years, he lead his team to back to back championships. Forget about ppg that's not what he is about he makes the guys around him better, he plays smooth, fast, ball handling is increadible! Can't wait to see especially under aldeman, thanks.

I know they played their tales off, but like you said they are role players at best aside from the gasol bros that team had no stars. However their floor general rubio was instrumental in leading this team to gold medal over a stacked USA team in kobe, melo, wade, chandler, bosh, williams, kidd, I mean the list goes on. This further proves my point that the rubio kid can play point guard in the nba. He made those role players elevate their game to another level. They are so much better with him in the game rubio is not a question mark that is why morey was and still is dying to get him.

I know they still lost but I had expected the US team to have beaten them more soundly.

From my understanding, Rubio didn't "lead" anybody to a championship the last 2 years: He went along for the ride. Your statement is laughable. I suppose you think Jordan Farmar led the Lakers to 2 championships? Rubio's NBA star power has plummeted because of his sorry play in Euroleague.

The proof will be on the NBA floor. I'm sure you and others will come up with every excuse why Rubio doesn't live up to your hype. I really do want him to do well because it will help the NBA. But for his sake, it's a good thing expectations are way down from when he was drafted.
