that's what they want you to think

I'm all for the guy getting another shot here because he has shown flashes, but he just gets paid way too much and the texans really need all the cap space they can get to sign 2 quality DBs...amongst other things.

Interesting thought, who's the best DT the texans have ever had?

He is a solid player and I hope he stays with the Texans. The coaching staff, management and owner on the other hand...

Having Okoye on the team would be a major positive(in addition to money and playoff prospects) in the battle to sign Nnamdi. The Eagles and Cowboys have no player on their team that can sweeten the deal for Nnamdi like the Texans have with Amobi. I'll leave it at that.

Seriously? Even sarcasm and trolling ought to have a modicum of of logic and sense behind it.

My take is we could have had Willis, Revis, Griffin or Meriweather.

When you're a player and you're on the D-Line I personally believe you have to either be a freak of nature or you have to be a juiced up out of control monster nowadays in order to be ELITE. I don't think Okoye is the type to do those things which is why he has ended up looking subpar. It is possible though that he could be a SOLID contributor in his lifetime. He gets good penetration on the run for the most part and can get after the quarterback though he doesn't necessarily get them down. I believe he will be a solid player but in no way should he be kept if there are cap implications that could potentially keep us from landing a guy like Nnamdi.

That would apply if I were known to be a routine troller on here or perpetually sarcastic.
As possibly the only person on here that knows both guys professionally and personally I believe I'm actually qualified to make the assertion I made earlier.
(I personally hope he does but I believe he'll end up in Philly. I hope I'm wrong).

Care to elaborate on how you know them, or at least how Amobi helps nab Nnamdi?

Interviewed both multiple times (and once after a game against each other's team) and from that got to know both and their "peoples" -fam and agents.

From what I can see, w/the exception of the best wr in the NFL putting in work to convince Nnamdi to take the Texans offer(if the money is the same from all teams) Amobi is the best sweetener to a deal. He can convince Nnamdi to make the move and has Nnamdi's ear moreso than any player on the Cowboys, Eagles or Texans.

What the Cowboys do have is Rob Ryan so that may help their case but not as much as Amobi saying lots of good stuff about the Texans to Nnamdi and convincing him to join the Texans as they march to the playoffs.

I've never heard of Amobi and Nnamdi being buddy-buddy.

They're both Nigerian players, like Osi Numenyura (sp?), and so they do some aid work for the same orgs every once in a while. But that's about it.

From what I've seen, AJ80 and Nnamdi are far closer than anybody else on the Texans.

Even if the Kolb - R.Cromartie deal goes down? They still gotta resign Mikell.
