    Yao owns the Shanghai Sharks.

    Yao is now retired.

Wouldn't it be great if our guys could just play together and get paid by Yao to play in China? Maybe Rick could coach? Haha.

And when the NBA starts up, we would be the fastest-starting team in the league.

    Discuss.

Scola prefers Yao Ming's land as a destination if the NBA season does not start because of the lockout. "It's a more open market, it has so much potential and the country is appealing to me," he told Ole. Ole

In his last visit to China, Luis Scola was asked which Chinese team would he play with. "I see myself playing with the Shanghai Sharks because Yao is the owner of the team." Ole

I think a max of 2 or 3 non-Chinese players are allowed in each team.

Yao's pretty loyal, but he won't pay hundreds of millions to help the Rockets out. He won't push his guys out the door for a couple of months of training for his former team.

Even Francis did not get to play for Shanghai Sharks.

Yao let the team to make decision. Nothing wrong with that.

He could be busy head hunting for the coach of his team right now.

3 guys? So how about Scola, Lowry, and Martin. Most guys claim they want to play for the burn/run and not money. Plus, yao has gotten or can get them shoe deal money. Guys under contract need to have out-clauses so it should be too much of an expense. Imagine the fanfare that team would get in China?

Than it won't even be fair to the rest of the league. They will run through every other team.

Apollo, who cares about the rest of the league? Yao wants to win!

And what better 'coaches' for China then these cerebral players/stars to teach the other players / help the real coaches.

I think if these three took their talents to Shanghai - others would follow. China's leagues are weak. I don't think it would be a problem cutting some guys to make room for 3 Americans per team. And china has the money and the market. It could be a win, win.

I believe if Yao wants some Rockets in his team, he may start with the Cat.

Yao should sell the sharks and buy the Rockets. Then maybe we could get some top free agents to come in the future.

If a team really want to win, I don't think they sign a guy who may be returning to the NBA after just a couple months of service.

If any significant Rocket gets signed by Yao, it's probably Chuck Hayes and probably for the whole year.

Why would Yao want his team to lose?

Why are some decent teams in Europe doing it then? You don't think there would be any value of having cerebral, hard-working guys who are in there prime like scola and Lowry around the coaching staff and players even if it's for a few months?

I'm sure that would have a positive influence whether it's implementing a few NBA plays or just showing the Chinese players what it takes to be successful.

We are talking about cutting or not-resigning the bottom 3 players on a team in China. What's the big deal? Bad team. Bad league.

Billy Hunter said that if guys are currently under contract in the NBA then they would have to return once the lockout finishes. So there are a lot of better teams and leagues, renting NBA players during this lockout.

Haha, you mean the corpse of Francis.

I wish the players would take it upon themselves to practice and play together. Maybe an A team vs a B team. It's still in their best interest; winning isn't only an owners interest.

Hopefully, they'd do that if the team actually misses real games.

Maybe they could even meet up other teams and follow out the schedule that the NBA so nicely created!
