Why don't you leave it where you found it originally, so the next person who finds it can post a similar thread next year.
Instead of being an ass about it, since you are trying to get someone to buy it from you, you could have simply re-stated that the phone was locked when you found it. That actually would have taken less effort than individually responding to everyone that suggested you try to find the original owner. I went back and read your paragraph in which you stated it, but it was buried in the last sentence. Not everybody takes time to read every sentence posted on a message board, especially if it's hard to understand and buried within paragraphs. But like donny said, there were/are other means in which you could find the original owner. At the very least a phone call to Apple or the service provider might have helped.
The Classified sections are known for really epic threads that just happen naturally. See the used hair gel, that 360 scam thread etc.
rofl can't believe you're trying to sell hot goods. not only that, but you're defending the right to steal. great job! idagf that it was locked. you didn't give a **** about the owner. it could've been stolen and put somewhere by someone or the owner could've just forgot where he placed it.
I just reported you to the FBI, NASA, KGB and the local Girl Scout Troop 234. Stealing is wrong. Prepare for federal pound me in the ass prison.
Is it really hard to do the right thing? I hope someone finds your phone someday and does the exact same thing to you...
Why did you even bother posting the story on how you obtained the phone? You should have just said locked Iphone for sale. Remind me not to hire you for a sales position at my work.
Actually, couldn't the person claim that the phone is stolen? Then he's selling stolen property. You can't tell me he couldn't walk down to an AT&T store, hand them the phone, then they identify the owner by the sim... I saw a similar case on one of those cheesy court shows (I wanna say Judge Joe Brown) and the judge rewarded the plantiff something in the ball park of $2000. Only $500 was for the phone, the other $1500 were punitive damages. I really hope that's what happens to this guy...
I got a call from a person last night that found my wife's 3gs on the side of the road near where we live. It had been in the Austin weather since the middle of march. The lady charged it, took it to the ATT store and they gave her my number. I picked it up yestday and it works fine. I'll be stoping by her house today with a giftcard as a token of our apprecation. Thank god for honest people.
