    in the past
    and
    currently. . . i would say yes

My point is. . the link between violence and physical discipline is tenuous at best.

I disagree, the best way to prevent violent behavior is to hit a kid and tell them not to hit others while doing it.

It should be common courtesy and respect not to make fun of murdered people.

But I guess that's just me, and it is the internetz after all, so people like you have no problem being total jackasses and show their true colors behind a wall of anonymity

But it's ok to make fun of joining a group that has discriminated against and killed more people than we'll ever know? But you were just joking so it's ok right? You don't get to come down on people and tell them they are screwed up for the things they say because they crossed your personal moral barrier, but when people call you out for crossing theirs say "oh it's just a joke! you guys need to relax!". You're a hypocrite, I am too, but stop trying to act like a morally superior jerkbutt.

I believe the fact that the world is so full of crap (and by crap I mean death and destruction and horrible things in general) that people tend to funnel their humor into what can be considered sick and twisted. However, that doesn't mean they are sick and twisted. Everyone is probably very disgusted that a kid brutally murdered his parents, but does that mean that every time something like this happens that we have to cry and say, "Oh Dear Lord, WHY?!" And those who say they aren't a bit disturbed by the story is a liar. Pathological even.

I used to work at the morgue. At first I was completely blown away by the "dis-respectfulness" of those working with the bodies, but I came to realize after a time that you either have to deal with it...in a sick, twisted way...or you blow your brains out with a handgun after a particularly bad day.

If you express disgust because it's wrong that others express disgust at what they think is wrong, then, I think that's more wrong (but at least I can do that since I think it's ok to believe something is wrong).

"I'm pretty sure they weren't beating their parents with hammers back then either... Has there been a case 30 yrs ago when some 17 yr old kid can't party and in result hammer death his parents???"

That is what Josh was responding to. Agreed, Pick up a history book. Unique snowflake? I think not...

So my same name son says "This ain't me, I would make their heads into balloons to tie on the mailbox so people know where the party's at!"

    Humorous? I thought so.
