Are you agreeing or disagreeing with me or what are you getting at? Ha.

Let me know when Josh Smith is in a Houston uniform.:)
And I wouldnt necessarily consider Smith a superstar but I guess thats matter of opinion

In many ways the Rockets are running in place. Wildly optimistic piece, I hope he is right. It looks like our greatest hope is that one or more of our young players turn out to be next MJ. What are the odds on that one? If for some unknown, inexplicable reason, DH arrives here, then we are good to go, instant contender (depending on who is left).

For now, the Rockets do not really need a superstar, look at the Trailblazers, Nuggets, and even the Hawks (to a lesser extent, I do not consider Joe Johnson a superstar). We can be a good team by our sum of parts. For the most part, we simply need a decent center and small forward, which in turn will make us much stronger, if we do keep Chase and Chuck in the process.

poor b*stard, he could have been great given the right tutelage. he is what he is at this point, but I think he could have really been something special if he landed in the right situation (reads: not atlanta). I shudder to think if dream had been able to mold him early in his career

Josh Smith is in no way a superstar. All these years in the league and he still doesn't have a post game. He gets by on pure athleticism and that's about it. He is a third tier star at best, not someone I would call a game changer. All athleticism and no brains.

More Fool's Gold. How many wasted seasons chasing the next superstar, a superstar that probably wouldn't even want to be here unless we already have a another star to pair them with?

The Rockets need to trade their vets for future picks and start counting their ping pong balls.

I think what the article is implying is that the Rockets are poised to jump on just about any good opportunity that comes along, in terms of landing a superstar player.

No one is saying, or can guarantee that a opportunity will arise however.

Or that the team dealing the superstar will want to deal with Houston. If its a team in our division, or even one in our conference, the hypothetical team dealing its star may ignore any offer we have to make.

    Not new news.

I agree, the article was more about the good position the Roxs have put themselves in. Not whether or not we land a so called superstar.

Btw the way I am not one that agrees that the Roxs should give away all their assets and tank to get to the lotto. I like to win now 1st, and upgrade if a opportunity exists. If your winning your players look better in a trade situation.

Not to disappointed in Yao's retirement, it was time. He was a great guy, sad to see it end.
Very disappointed in Rick firing, but let's hope for the best.

A nice slap at the Morey-haters from Sports Illustrated.

I wouldn't call Josh Smith a superstar - until we get him, that is.

yea, who would've thunk it, fan(atics) trying to keep it real.

I guess someone has to, but it sure takes the fun out of coming here and being a fan.

You know they're fan(atics) because despite being in a Groundhog Day scenario for way too long, we're still here talking about it...caring enough to talk about it. Fans are fans when things are rosy and when they're not. I don't need to pretend all is well to be a Rockets fan...I'm already a Rockets fan regardless.

I, for want of any other Dream, am holding out hope that Motiejunas will be the Rocket's next Super Star.

True. It may be that any player who says they want to come to Houston is automatically considered a CF superstar?

Right now, I have more hope for him than anybody else the Rox have.
