what's next, the "I AM STRAIGHT/WHITE AND WANT RECOGNITION FOR IT" thread?

seriously, fat people don't get it bad at all, I don't really understand some of the venom in this thread. Sure, some people are douches, but to launch a tirade against "skinny/fit" people that are this and that...eh.

Nah, I get it, just the "wanting recognition" part that made it lame.

    Agreed.

Cmon now no need to generalize, unless we qualify "freaks" I guess.

This thread is just about Major's denial in the fact that he will die much earlier than he should have simply because he didn't make his health a priority in his life. Fat people are made fun of... boohoo.

I love how the OP started this flame war, and then just sorta hit the old dusty trail outta here......we all know Major Malcontent's intentions here. And I think he's sitting somewhere right now, going "GOOOOD...GOOOOD...."

Will it make you mad if I "unfairly" live a nice long life? Cause it sounds like you feel like I deserve to die. Is it an affront to good people who work out and eat lean chicken fish and veggies if I should beat the odds and see, I dunno 80?

I'm not going to insult your intelligence. I was being a little snarky. I do genuinely think in insulting fat people a lot of people are sort of backhandedly (consciously or subconsciously) "letting us know" that they CERTAINLY aren't fat.

I think that might be better accomplished in one of the "Gym tips" threads...or even here...but I certainly didn't expect the fat baiters to do it.

The deal is you will never see me in a "What workout works best for my side-glutes? (whatever the h a side-glute is) thread wee-weeing all over the workout warriors. But yeah, the fact that these pretty much open "We hate fat people" threads are becoming about as ubiquitous as the "reasons to post pictures of scantily clad women" threads, sorta chaps me raw. So I tend to react.

If I didn't care about your well being I wouldn't bother posting. I don't want you to die before your time. I want you to realize the odds are heavily against you and you don't get any prizes for beating those odds. Wake the hell up dude. You're not in high school anymore and spiting the "cool" kids who are fit isn't going to get you anything worthwhile in life. This isn't something you'll want to regret when you can't live the life you want to live. I have struggled with this issue and for me it was mostly my upbringing along with naturally being less active as I've gotten into my 30's. I changed the way I eat and then I got a trainer and I've lost about 80 pounds in the last year. You will be amazed by your body's potential if you push it. Right now I eat five or six times a day and when I eat it's like dropping something into an inferno. I'm hungry again 2/3 hours later and I eat again, I don't starve myself. You don't realize how you really feel now because you don't have a direct basis for comparison. Right now I feel great and this has become more and more my lifestyle as a result. It's not easy but it is rewarding and it's not a complex problem that has no solution. It's within everyone's grasp, just make your health a priority and realize the importance of this moment in your life to make changes.

If you want a referral to my trainer, let me know. He's an older gentleman, not judgemental at all, and he's very experienced. My experiences with his service have been excellent. I highly recommend him.

I hope you soon realize how important this is and stop with the pity party stuff. Good luck to you.

Dude this is not denial and its not a pity party. Right now and perhaps only for right now I am sick enough of losing the same thirty to forty pounds that I am not currently dieting. I am exercising some, but I have always done that.

My contention is not that fat people would not, generally, be happier or healthier at closer to normal weights. My contention is that mistreating them verbally (even if they aren't "workin' on it') is wrong, and that people who spend a lot of time bashing fat people in the guise of "helping" really aren't.

Congrats on the weight loss, I am glad you feel better....but I think you were probably still a decent person at your previous weight and worthy of decent treatment, would you not agree.

    And thanks for caring (sincerely).

You're basically making fun of "fit" people in response to them making fun of you.

I dont see what that's going to accomplish

My sexy abs and muscular thighs make my penis look even more beautiful. My beautiful penis in return makes my abs and groin area look even sexier. Everything about my body makes the surrounding body part sexier. I'm like the exponential sexy man.

I'm not fit, but I know exercising and trying to eat healthy now (25 going on 26) will help me 20-40 years down the road. I don't want to spend $170 a week on meds (with insurance, $400+ without) to keep my blood sugar down. I don't want to carry a fanny-pack with more than 10 different pill bottles and having to take them throughout the day everyday because I didn't take care of my body and needed a 6-year-old donor's kidney that my body is constantly trying to reject. I don't want to prick my fingers while on travel just to know what kind of food I can or can't eat for lunch.

It's easy to sit on the couch after work and a nice dinner to flip on Netflix or PS3. It's hard to exercising and dieting, which is why people needed every little motivation they can get, including some supporting words on a message board. Some of us are busting ass trying to be healthy so we have better quality of life down the road.

Looking good without a shirt is only a side effect, really.

I'm pretty sure the only reason Jillian Michaels won't be having a baby is because she is a raging lesbian.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Well ... I dunno, eat & exercise more?

The more I exercise the hungrier I am. Granted you'll loose some calories/weight by exercising, but that's perfectly fine, since you want to add muscle not fat.

I've never had a problem gaining weight and I generally think it's a bad idea wanting to gain weight, because people tend to eat the ****tiest stuff, just to get bigger, when they, really, just get fatter.

A big oatmeal in morning sure helps you add healthy calories. I eat six meals a day and my morning meal is usually already about 800-900 calories (granted it's the biggest meal of my day).

Other than that, just eat healthy.

Brown rice, yams/sweet potatoes/potatoes, whole grain noodles, bulgur, quinoa, couscous, whole grain tortillas, whole grain bread, fresh fruits, eggs, fish & seafood, lean chicken/turkey breast & lean beef, all sorts of vegetables, lentil soup, low fat curd cheese & (non fat) milk, nuts, mushrooms, etc..

I've made a conscious effort to reduce my salt/preserved food intake.

Man, what a difference that makes.
