I'm guessing the OP doesn't eat all that healthy and I'm also guessing that the OP doesn't have a six pack. He probably has a fast metabolism or is young and he hasn't put on much weight. I bet OP eats fast food regularly but yet he calls other people unhealthy. Note to OP, just because someone doesn't "look" fat, doesn't mean they are healthy.

It would be nice if we lived in a world where people could discuss topics by using rational thought and logic instead of stifling their ideas because they may not be politically correct. Unfortunately, not everyone is logical and most people are extremely sensitive. In this case, your co-worker might have an overweight family member, or feels overweight herself. So instead of hearing your argument, she stops listening and gets emotional about it.

You have a choice. You can use freedom of speech at its fullest, and offend those that cant handle a logical discussion, which would make people hate you. The other option is to think before you talk and censor yourself so your office can live in harmony.

I have always chose the former, which hasn't always worked out well for me.

    sincerely,
    Spock

    BWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHAAAHHHAAA!

    omg...this is epic!

Note the opening post that he was talking to a female co-worker, like in his friendzone thread #2 above... he was probably trying to hit on her. This is a cleverly disguised asking for sympathy thread of him leaping past the friendzone straight to creepzone.

    haha

COHETE ROJO...the FriendZone legend!! Can't get the womenz. we can't make this up!!!

Okay... your poll is ****. I answered "Yes" to the title of the thread which says "is it wrong to talk about fat people in public"... but your poll question reverses it asking "should fat people be called out". So I meant no... but you did a crap job of setting up the poll.

People in this country are too goddamned sensitive.

Yes. Talk about whatever you want. It's a free country. But be careful what you say around co-workers, it can negatively affect your job.

And I really don't care if other people say I'm stupid, or my kid's ugly, or whatever (as long as they're not existing or potential business contacts).

I'm not gonna walk on eggshells my whole life worried that I'm gonna hurt someone else's feelings. F*** that.

Do you also feel righteous in calling people you find unattractive to be ugly? Hanging out with you in Chicago you seemed like a really cool dude. Here you just sound proud to be a dick. F other peoples feelings? The only possible response to that statement is F you.

Considering the OP screwed up the poll, would it be cool to call him out for being dumb in public? Dumbness also contributes to productivity and, given the fact that people can choose to be smarter by informing or educating themselves, it is as much of a choice as one's weight is.

This, I think people should be able discuss anything they want. People who get offended easily need to learn how to not give a ****.

This doesn't mean be an *******. No one should ever be intentionally rude/hurtful or talk about things people can't control (ugly, short, bald, etc...)

So ugly, short, bald are off-limits but people who are hurt by being called fat are "offended easily." You make about as much sense here as the other bigtexxx and we all know he is not exactly the standard-bearer around here when it comes to rational thought.

This happened to me once. I was browsing the Juniors department at Dillard's and some woman just walked up to me and said "lose weight, ******" and walked away. I just laughed out loud, I couldn't believe it. What kind of person gets gratification from putting down random strangers? People with low self-esteem. I didn't think about this again until this thread. Weirdos.

I'd like to think I'm a really cool dude.
    I don't tell people they're ugly.
I don't go out of my way to tell someone they're fat, they're ugly, they're whatever.
And even if I were to talk to them, I wouldn't say it to them, I would be respectful of them, courteous and nice to them.

But on the flip side, I don't think that it's right that I'm not allowed to talk about someone being fat, or jewish, or hispanic, or black, or whatever.
    If you're fat, you're fat.
    If you're bald, you're bald.
    If you're Jewish, you're Jewish.
It doesn't mean you're a bad person, but you are what you are, and we shouldn't be so damn sensitive that we have to tiptoe around it.

I'm half-Mexican. I don't care if people call it "half-latino" or "half-hispanic" or whatever. It doesn't hurt my feelings for someone else to talk about it. And other people shouldn't be so damn sensitive that it's uncouth to talk about what they are. It is what it is.

I don't know what's worse. I had some girl come up to me when I was at Aero with a friend and began telling me that I shouldn't worry about what other people say and that I was beautiful no matter what. I didn't know whether to be flattered or wonder if there was a reason that she was subliminally trying to tell me that I was ugly and shouldn't care?
