Golly, I think this is highly inappropriate and bordering on discrimination. I also think your suggestion that overweight people are less productive than others is a very great and unfair leap.

Smokers (and I am one)? Okay. This, no way.

Sooooo.....I am being hypersensitive and this topic isn't brought up on this board CONSTANTLY.

Fat people are human, gay people, rap music fans, Mormons, Muslims, drivers of big trucks all human.

If you don't want to be fat or date a fat person that is cool.

If you wouldn't ever be gay, drive a big truck, convert to Islam...all cool.

I don't see a compelling reason why people are in constant need of "being called out" for being what they are. But apparently a f-ton of people on this BBS think fatties need to be...so I'll be seeing you in the next version of this thread..in a couple weeks.

You would be surprised to know that a lot of obese people actually eat a lot less than a healthy person. They might eat 1 huge meal a day and then eat little bits of sugary snack food throughout the day. I'm 8% body fat and I eat 6-7 big meals a day.

The more appropriate argument would be that they drive health care costs up with being more prone to diabetes, heart disease, mobility issues, etc.

With that being said. I don't think this is a conversation to have in public. We solve more issues by public encouragement rather than shame.

    2. Highly inappropriate, bordering on discrimination or harassment as I said in last post.

    3. Bull. If they do, they are roundly criticized or banned.

    4. The certainty with which some people say "Being fat is a choice" is just ****ing stupid.

I am appalled that 40% of bbs posters think it's cool to "call someone out" because of their weight. It is flat unconscionable.

That's one ironic signature you have there.

Just shows a low self esteem. I can promise you that a good majority of that 40% are out of shape. For anybody that has ever been ridiculed or harassed in public because of their race, religion, weight or any physical characteristic, you understand how much it hurts.

These are conversations that you have in private and if you are going to "call somebody out" you better have a good reason for it. For example, me yelling at my dad to lose weight at his house because he already has a pre-existing heart condition. The next day we were at the grocery store buying healthier stuff.

Being called fat isn't as big of an insult in other countries as it is in America.

By way of illustration, I have the dietary and exercise habits that someone like CR would expect from an obese person. Lots of red meat, lots of carbs, soft drinks, ice cream, everything. And despite now being in my mid-30s and doing no exercise, I'm skinny. I might even have higher-than-average risks of things like diabetes, cancer, and heart trouble due to my diet, but you'd never know it by looking at me.

That is because you are most likely an Ectomorph body type. You are skinny and have a hard time putting on both fat and muscle.

Here are the different body types:

Not really, unless they come over, confront you, and punch you in the face. You can say anything you want to a fat person.

I don't know why people feel that they cannot say anything, actually you can, but there might be a reaction to it.

I think you'd be safe in assuming that any time you hear people talking about douchebags in public, they're referring to you.
