I am waiting to see what my brother (who works for Apple) has to say, but I suspect I will upgrade within a week, especially at the $29 price point. Someone in another thread compared this to a Windows Service Pack, but there are a number of new features that make this much, much more than a maintenance release.

Remember when the Apple fanboys were the underdogs who hated everything else? :p

Does it bring "maximize a window" and proper cut and paste?

Despite my extreme hatred towards iOS, I prefer MAC OSX over PC any day.

    Linux Distro's>Mac<PC

They have a 'maximize' app button. Not sure if the green maximize window button works any differently.

What's wrong with cut and paste?

FWIW Jesus Diaz (avid mac lover on Gizmodo) gave it one of the worst reviews ever. Leo Lapirte said they should name their next distro "puddy cat". I'll be intriguided on how iOS look and feel feature integration works on this version. It probably won't invoke me to switch, but if avid mac lovers are cringing at this it might be worth looking into.

I've been using the developer GM (legit) for the past few weeks and I really like it. I switched back to the mail app from gmail as it's gotten much better. Search is extremely fast. Safari is much faster too.

But what I'm more excited about are the new Macbook Airs which just came out. I'm thinking of getting the 13 inch. Now that I have Spotify the 128GB doesn't look so restrictive. I could set up a NAS and I would be set.

I thought you were talking about cut and paste with respect to text, images, etc.

It never even occurs to me to try and use a keyboard shortcut to move a file. Drag and drop is so simple and has less of a possibility of inadvertantly wiping out a file.

i was also stuck in the past with tiger until just last week.

I upgraded to Snow Leopard and ILife11 in anticipation of Lion, but now it feels like I have a brand new computer on my hands (I have a MBP from 2006) and I want to mess around wit this thing before I switch again...

like I am just discovering this App Store and wondering what I should download first- FaceTime or Video Converter

Not in terms of user friendliness... As nice as Linux distro's look nowadays (ubuntu etc)... they are still years away from being consumer friendly..

Yes of course, if you're not tech savvy than Linux is not your OS. In terms of functionality , Linux all the way. Ubuntu 11.04 got an extreme makeover and looks alot like MAC OSX. However, if you plan on using Linux, you definitely need to know commands. I have most of my windows programs running too thanks to Wine :) Spotify with the Alsa and OSS audio drivers makes it perfect on Linux
