Laugh if you want but if the Lakers continue to do the "Pretend like we haven't needed a PG upgrade for 5+ years now" thing and yet again ignores a glaring need, don't be surprised if T-Mac can come in and give them some quality minutes at the point.

Sure, he still wouldn't be able to defend anybody (something Rockets fans need no reminder of) but he's more of a playmaker/facilitator now with an eye for making the post-feed pass. He could be useful on that squad.

Yes, T-Mac, your on crack. The Lakers would never even think about it. They are trying to get younger and more athletic and although he is actually younger than a few guys on the Lakers, his body is about as old as it gets.

With all that said, I think, if he can relax his ego and take a big time pay cut, he has a better chance of Chicago taking a risk with him because they got a lot of money tied up in Boozer and they need one more scorer on the team.

this is the first time i remember tmac tweeting something like this - its almost a desperate attempt for LA to take notice of him...

man... he would be pretty good as their PG in LA. (ala ron harper style) just sayin.

Yeah, cuz fish hasn't done anything tmac hasn't. Well besides all those playoff wins and the rings.

They already do a horrible job defending the 1 but tmac would solve that, too, with his quickness and unwavering willingness to play d.

He actually looked quite a bit more athletic last year (in the second half of the season) than he did in t he previous two years, he just didn't take a lot of shots and didn't get a ton of minutes so people didn't notice him (playing in Detroit didn't help either).

Barea will most likely resort to this

    <iframe width="560" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/2FGkIp8Va58" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Then TMAC should proceed to do this to Barea

Yeah that's right. Forcing the Lakers to attack with TMac is exactly what the Mavs would force. If it were so easy to take the ball out of Kobe's hands just by putting Barea in. Do you really think the Lakers would attack with TMac just because a short and quick PG is in the game? As if TMac attacks the basket anymore. Barea would embarrass him so bad they would have to sit down TMac.

I'm just using Barea as an example from the championship team to make a point.

Answer my question, do you think the Lakers would attack with TMac and take the ball out of Kobe's hands, just because Barea checked in? Let's replace Barea with an Aaron Brooks then...circa MIP....or Lawson or any number of lightning quick PGs

It is silly to say TMac can play PG when teams would go ultra quick against him.

He would be a defensively liability, no doubt. But let's not act like you can't simply make a defensive switch here. Kobe, Shannon Brown or whoever could always switch to the quicker, smaller guards while T-Mac "guards" Kidd or whoever the taller and/or slower backcourt player is.

    Thats true.

But thats why if he signed with the Bulls, he can play SG and be a play maker when Rose is out, and Watson is in.

Or if he signed with the Heat, maybe Wade can guard the point guards (he certainly can).

    Wade/McGrady/LeBron

Lets see Barea guard one of them, it would be a mismatch.
