Couldn't hurt, with Rodgers-Cromartie they have 2 starting quality CBs and save money to address other positions. Maybe resign Mikell?

I know we're talking about the Texans and it's just not their style but I get the feeling the Texans will finally get their defensive superstar in Aso and If they don't it won't be for being cheap.

ARC for Kolb makes so much sense, if Kolb ends up anywhere but Arizone it will be the suprise of the mini-offseason.

Call me crazy, but I have been having the same feeling lately. Every time I mention this to my buddy's, they just start laughing (they are cowgirl fans).

    I agree as well.

I think that most people I know who are Texans Fans get caught up in the "You're cool if you can bash the Texans constantly" fad...and yes, I said it, it's a fad. They're so afraid they'll feel like idiots for actually hoping that the Texans will do anything right, that they instead choose to piss on any hope that others may have.

Eff it. Go all out, Bob. Now's as good a time as any.

I think it has gotten to be the "cool" thing to do but the Texans earned it. I just hope Uncle Bob realizes he is in a dangerous spot with fans and one BIG move could change the direction of the franchise.

McNair has had a "Get out of Jail Free" pass as the guy who brought football back to Houston. The Texans have so far been able to avoid Houston sports fan's front runner tendencies, because football city loves football.

Signing Nnamdi is a chance for him to have a shot at getting it done with "his guys" that he is comfortable with in place coaching the team, and getting to say "See told ya so!" and Houston sports fans going "Yes, Mr. McNair."

Which is all totally fine with me if it gets us to the playoffs. If he doesn't get that one big name, then we have to find a way to get to the playoffs with a new system on D....with no proven "NFL starter" level D-Backs (probably less than a 30 percent chance). Then he is looking at "having" to fire his coaching staff or facing outright fan revolt.....neither of which is a pill he seems to be very willing to swallow.

Man, I thought reading the topic that the St. Louis Cardinals were offering a couple prospects to the Astros.

I wonder what prospects they would need to pry away MVP candidate Lance Berkman?

    Oh wait.....................................****.

With Nandi . . Texans should be 11-5
[13-3 but with the complementary 2 Kubiak Losses]

I agree, assuming average health of the team. They will need to get Nandi a lounge chair and a cooler of beer, because if he joins the Texans he will be thrown at literally 3 times all year.

Houston doesn't have any more "frontrunner tendencies" than any other town. This is a *great* sports town.

I was thinking that very thing last night watching absolutely, positively the worst team in baseball with no real shining future stars play before an announced crowd of 28,975 against the freaking Washington Nationals. (Also seeing our own Groogrux on Kiss Cam with his beautiful wife!!)

Yeah, I know there weren't 28,975 people there...but there were a ton more than I expected to show up for a Monday night vs. the Nats...and from the owners' standpoint, that's a lot of tickets sold for a Monday night.

I've made this point before, but for someone to say Houston is a poor sports town based on lousy teams getting the lousy attendance they merit is ludicrous. Little league baseball, football, soccer, and even little league hockey are huge in this area. Go out around town in fall or spring or winter, any time it's not 115 on the heat index, and you'll see softball leagues, pickup basketball games, folks playing soccer, etc. Not to mention the absolute shrine that is built for HS football around here.

Yeah, this is a *great* place to love and engage in sports. Great people. Great town.
