    We had a nice run, though, nearly three decades and never without a star. Of course, a couple of them were fool's gold, but no one thought that at the time. You have to go back to the 1982-83 team to find a roster without an elite player. Not many teams have been as fortunate as the Rockets have been.

    Lowry, martin, and scola certainly have all star potential. It all comes down to how you define star. If you mean a franchise player who is a superstar, then no we don't have a star. If you mean someone who could be an all star, then yes we do.

    So the OP was incorrect. The Houston Rockets have never been without a star player in their entire history, until now. If you count their time in San Diego then they were only without a star player for their initial year of existence.
