Maybe you just mistakenly thought you were at the library.

Not my fault you make asinine and offensive comments. In the coffee thread you were mocking, rude, and dismissive because another poster and I had bothered to talk to the owner of a coffee shop where you also buy your coffee. In this thread, you make an over the top statement that libraries hire mentally r****ded people as staff after you had solicited comments (crudely worded and horribly misspelled) about how to pick up books about DJing inexpensively. If you don't like libraries or they intimidate you, leave it at that. Instead you hurl out a r****d comment then double down after getting blowback.

I don't usually get in dust ups on this board, but you're pretty obnoxious for a dude with less than 100 posts. Are you related to FFB?

-You were screaming at me for not sucking up to a place that has crap customer service and hit and miss coffee. Perhaps your demographic is one they like, but when I go in there I have to wait for them to quit talking to either each other or an old white customer before they even look in my direction. They don't have any "roasted on" dates on the bags, and their blends are nothing special. There are much better roasters here. I guess you live in seattle now and don't know.

-As for libraries mentally r****ded people work there. That is a fact. I am not sure if they get paid but I didn't say anything that was offensive. If someone has a problem with me saying r****d then I apologize. I guess you have some real issues with libraries and coffee.

I didn't have give response to your tirade in the coffee thread cause I wanted that to be the end of it. I think you need to chillz the puck out.

I don't have a problem with you not liking House of Coffee Beans. Maybe there are better roasters there now. I haven't lived in Houston in 8 years. But when you are rude and dismissive to posters who have talked to their owner and mock statements they make, don't be surprised when posters don't take kindly to that.

You started this thread asking for advice. I chose to try to help you, and you respond with a comment about all the r****ds there. I find that term offensive, but I understand not everyone does. Sure, there are probably some people with Down Syndrome and other volunteers who "help" at libraries, but they are staffed with some very competent people that get paid salaries. Do you honestly believe that they are staffed primarily by mentally handicapped people?

I don't have a serious issue with coffee or libraries. I actually don't go to libraries that often, although I do drink a lot of coffee. Kind of a requirement where I live. I don't like when posters on this board are rude to me without provocation. I almost didn't even bother to respond in this thread, but I thought I would chip in with my advice on getting books cheap because that is something I have experience at. My mistake. I haven't seen you post much on this board, probably because you haven't been here long, but you seem to be one of the few people that I should probably ignore.

I know better than to argue with five year old gangst wannabes. Um good luck DJing. I guess it's progress that you at least know how to spell DJ.

I like "Professor". Clearly, we're going nowhere with this. Other than FFB, you're the only person on this board I've gotten into it with. I like a more chill ClutchFans experience which is why I avoid D&D. I'm just going to add you to my ignore list so I avoid you in the future. Peace, bro.

I missed a coffee thread? That blows. I actually agree that HoCB isn't special. I tried them once and got stale beans. They claim none of their bags are over a week old but without a date onthem they are just guessing. Also after 14 days you are pretty much out of the 'fresh coffee' range. Currently get my beans from Lola Savannah downtown or Catalina coffee on washington. CC coffee will pull you a shot of the beans u are about to buy so they are pretty awesome (expensive though compared to Lola)

if you are close to HoCB then go to half priced books in rice village.

Lol @ the op. Stop trying to antagonize people around here. Go to a library, go to half-priced books. It won't kill you to be a little less ignorant.

I can't believe that nobody has suggested Amazon. Did you know that you can get books there for super cheap? Way cheaper than larger used book stores. The other great thing is that you can find hard-to-find used books there really easily (thus negating their "hard-to-find" label). It is really cool. You can find all of your art books - especially the cool old ones from the 20's or 30's. Art is so cool. It is always revolving.

Also, another thing I would be silly not to bring up is that the great thing about Amazon is that it comes to your house via UPS or the USPS.

Or you could go to the local Barnes & Noble, grab a yummy Starbucks (I hear you like coffee) and read all the books you want (well, all the books they carry...which is really great if you like self-help books). And it is for FREE!

That is larger than used. Larger = cheaper in a clever way that makes reference to your thread title. I did that to be more inclusive.

Half Price Books is worth mentioning again. They have stores in Houston and Austin (where they started), as well as other places. Some of their stores are larger than others. There's a nice one in Rice Village at 2537 University Blvd.

I love Amazon for my Kindle and used books but need to see this title in person.

Everyone here is joking, funny and helpful except for Scribe. He has some crazy devotion to a coffee shop and went off on me in this thread. I don't think I was hostile

See posts 5, 9, 10, and 11. I guess it must have been too much for you to read through the whole whopping one and a half pages before you went and got your belief all suspended.

Wow...now I feel REALLY stupid. I need need to get smarter. I wonder if a larger used book store can help me with that. I should start a thread asking for a good bookstore, right?

I was really looking forward to some posts revealing used bookstores I have yet to come across in Houston. Sigh...

Your sarcasm is difficult to pick up over text. You might use it effectively in real life conversations, but online it just makes you seem like an idiot.
