Is she really that ugly? I mean they were still doing her makeup by the time they were shooting the video.

 

Friday was a lot more catchy. I thought Simon Cowell was going to work with her. Surely he didn't pick this song for her, really?

 

Her moment has gone on long enough. It's obvious she can't be stopped... stop her songwriters!!!

I'm sorry, not that this is all that original or creative, but it's pretty competently done. I think Black's people could have packaged this with some Disney tween movie and leveraged a starring role of some kind. Gen-X parents just seem a lot less willing to let their kids listen to adult-themed pop music, so all this post-Britney / Hanna Montana nonsense gets all those extra dollars.

The dance rehearsal scene was an interesting move, all professional, all adults, that probably came more from the publicist or manager than any director.

I don't get it. This has to be a joke that's being pushed still, right?

I mean, there's a pop formula that's successful with plenty of bad singers who can't write. And they're failing at it...the melody's mediocre, the lyrics aren't even average (which is what I'd expect when someone else writes a song for someone), the instruments on the track sound weird together...

I guess overall, it seems like she paid bottom dollar for her lyrics/songwriter and her producer and ended up with crap that's way worse than "normal pop music". Which probably happens all the time and just doesn't become public like her stuff has..?

I just gotta say one thing. I'm not trying to criticize her [she's just a kid], but the line "I've waited for so long now," well in the real world you can wait a lot longer for your "moment" then 16 years. You are much more fortunate than most Rebecca Black.
