I haven't watched every game of the WWC, but from what i've seen it's pretty rare to see a flop. The women are playing with more toughness than the men.
Rapinoe has been crucial assisting in 3 of the US's biggest goals. The goal to tie Brazil to send the match to OT, the go-ahead goal against France, and now the assist to Morgan for the first goal in the finals. Hope Solo was the MVP against Brazil, saving the PKs and other good shots, as well as making numerous saves against France in the semi-finals. Abby Wambach definitely deserves lots of praise, too, scoring a header goal against Brazil and France. Morgan has been a surprise scoring two goals. However, Rapinoe and Hope Solo are definitely my MVPs. P.S. Does anyone else think that assistant ref looks like Steve Nash?
I hate that in sports. Teams get a lead, think they just need to play defense and they'll win. Stupid stupid stupid.
Best post I've seen on twitter today came after the Japanese goal and the US mixup. edsbs edsbs Oh son of a b**** Bornstein TAKE THAT WIG OFF YOU ARE NOT A WOMAN.:grin:
The Japanese women are doing what they've done all tournament. Great patience and resilience. Gotta figure though that the US can pull it out in extra-time. Then again I thought Germany would do the same but the Japanese women are some ballers so penalties might be it.
It would be a great finish to the tourney if Rapinoe popped up for the winning goal or assist on it. Total star.
