But it's no more run down with this guy in it than with nobody in it.

Sheeple tend to get angry when you think outside of the box and deviate from the flock mentality. Good for this guy- I'm going to go meet him next time I'm in the area.

Oh my mistake; a house in poor condition will definitely come up in negotiations. It will only be a minor problem for the houses that have a clear view of the property. As for the other houses many realtors we will take alternative routes that are aesthetically pleasing if they can. In this specific situation it does not matter much since it was abandoned. The guy being there is not going to make a difference. Also based on the value of the property I would imagine it is not much of an eyesore. Usually a lender starts the foreclosure after 3-6 months of non-payment so the house has usually has been maintained the previous year. Financially the owners could have been stable a couple years before they defaulted. The age on the house would be insignificant.

In foreclosures for years of backed taxes is really where you start to see houses in a run-down condition. Years of financial issues for the owners will show on a property.

lol this guys is smart, having a key actually plays a pivotal role in ownership. If the original owners are a lending company they might try a cash for keys program even though he is not the mortgagor. I like this guy; he'll probably turn it down though.

He is not going to get it for $16, he is going to be required pay off the backed taxes and he is not getting the title anytime soon. Statute of Limitations offers the rightful owners to reclaim their house years from now. This house will still be bargain obviously if he manages to get it. I am rooting for him as well.

Cracks me up when struggling middle class folks trash other struggling middle class folks for situations like this.

Let's all celebrate that bailed out evil corporation BAC that kicked this guy out:rolleyes:

Cheering for banks is like hugging the man who raped your children.

I was rooting for him... he seemed to be pretty decent about the whole process. He tried, he failed, and now he's cool with it.

agreed...I'm sure his "neighbors" wanted him out, getting someone for practically nothing, but I guess I missed the part where BofA stepped in? They had the rights after the mortgage company closed?

So he got to live in the house for 7 months for only $16? Not too shabby.

He couldn't have sold it during those 7 months? I would have sold it. Sublet it. Burned it down. Something. If legal.
