I work out with some meat heads every now and then and they'll run me to the ground with their work outs. After an hour of exercising, I'm exhausted. Yes, I'm in poor shape and trying to improve. What can I legally do to give myself more stamina during these sweat parties?

Don't eat a large meal before working out, drink 5 hour energy before you hit the gym and make sure to jug for 5 minutes before lifting weights.

work out more. if you're working out w them twice a week, u better be working out another 3+ times or else you're never going to increase your stamina. not just weights, go running, swimming, biking. supplements arnt going to help someone out of shape keep up with someone who's in shape.

You're exhausted after a tough one hour workout. What's the problem?

I've had pretty bad stamina since middle school. Like I'd quickly run out of breath when jogging a quarter mile. I think I saw a chart posted here before a whiiiile ago about increasing the run/walk ration per day or week. It's worse when I'm playing basketball.

I'm thinking maybe it's genetics and I'm just not meant to run?

The exhaustion means its working. You should be concerned if you don't feel winded.

No, don't worry. Every time I hit the gym and play full-court basketball I get winded if I didn't happen to run or anything for at least a week prior. You lose your endurance every time you don't run, if you set up a routine for running. Even if its just a lap a day you'll build up your stamina.

you have to start out slow, unfortunately. add a little bit of weight/endurance a day at a time and be patient. I've been doing that for a week and now I want to do a whole lot more because I don't get tired anymore. Commit yourself to it and try it.

    Food.

Make sure you have good carbs + water all day, and just before your workout have a mix of good carbs + simple carbs + water with lime/lemon. If you can get your hands on it, pomegranate juice does wonders before a workout.

Halfway through your workout, have a couple of sips of soda or a tiny tiny chocolate bar. Chocolate milk maybe. Don't overdo it, just something that will give you a small sugar rush. It also helps to have a bag of mixed nuts to go along with this.

After a workout, make sure you get some beef. Will improve your recovery.

But most of all, the thing that improves your stamina is just to repeatedly exhaust yourself while giving yourself reasonable rest/recovery time.
